No offense but gdc need to do a better job in thier decision making I just grundge at some of them I thought for sure Mass effect had best script I mean Bishock was good but Mass effect showed us a script play we never seen before it makes me wonder what games did they play to make the decision did they only play full a few of the games because that what I am seeing.

I think the script has more to do with the back story. "Script play" or gameplay is different. But both games did have a good back story. I guess an disturbing underwater environment with genetic freaks seemed more original than another intergalactic space drama.

how in the world does bioshock win best writing while portal wins game of the year? isn't that obviously backwards?
