bioshock deserves this award hands-down. there is more to bioshock than amazing visuals and it's revolutionary game play...it's amazing storyline that no other game can even compare to...

bioshock should have won. i've played through every game nominated start to finish, and bioshock was easily the best, despite the stiff competition. to award game of the year to a game that takes perhaps four hours to beat is a joke, no matter how revolutionary that game is. best writing? yes. most innovative? yup. goty? no. just no.

btw - did anyone else notice that mass effect was shown in the montage of candidates only to be replaced by cod4 in the final screen of the five nominees? what gives?
