'Killzone 2' September Date Not Official

Yesterday we reported about a potential September release date for PlayStation 3 exclusive Killzone 2, but it turns out to be false.

Seb Downie, QA Manager of Guerrilla Games, responded to a PlayStation.com forum post saying, "Sorry folks, as before, please take any release dates, or months with a grain of salt. If we haven't announced it, it is not gospel."

This is unfortunate.

As we rapidly approach E3 the release schedule for the rest of the year tends to get locked down. With this schedule we're able to plan out our gaming and know which game is going to keep us from spending time with loved ones.

Hopefully, Killzone 2 will release in '08 because we need more games on the PS3.

Thats fine I have too many pr orders as it is, alot of PS3 exclusives this year, and within a couple of months.

I'm really really looking forward to it, but it's no biggie. By the time I get my PS3 I'll have some serious catching up to do anyway. Contrary to popular belief, there's plenty of PS3 games for me.

I know this is off topic, but when is sony going to start making an 80 or 120gb model of their system. Right now I have a 20gb with backwards compatibility...but I just really need the extra memory ports for my psp.

i still got my 60 gb and its till has alot of memory onto it. to collinE, yea u do with all the updates you'll have to download, but you get to create ur own themeit's pretty cool

Sorny is going to pushed it back to 2010. Im not impressed or surprised by the move. Looks like another laggy online game from Sorny...

Killzone is a average game at best.... but I guess because the PS3 has no games thats why everyone likes it...

System is over rated and nothing but a hi def movie player... just junk... HOME is a joke to...

Get a DS3 on ebay dude, I paid 65 total for one, just 10 bucks more than retail when it hits the US... Its worth it of you really need to have it.

you are a broken record my friend. Come up with a new argument, cause all that is getting old. I can list some games that are awesome for the PS3, but i know you'll just reply with the same old crap. I'm not a fan of no one cause I Honestly think that these companies don't really care of our thoughts and just want our money. I love my systems but I will be fine without them. But I see you as a very lonely child without your 360.

Sorry my friend, KZ2 will be out once we figure out how to make games fast enough on PS3. Well, you guys are all used to waiting forever for something good to come out. Exclusives take years, well.. By the time we come out with a AAA exclusive game, we will be ready to make it for the PS4...

Lol. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Beautiful Katamari, Frontlines: Fuel of War, Ace Combat 6, Crackdown, Dead or Alive 4, Dead Rising, Saints Row, Forza Motorsport, Project Gotham Racing 4. Tell me about it..

And someone says 2008 is going to be a great year for PS3.. sure, you can say that. Bu you forgot about the 360: Fable 2, Halo Wars, Gears of War 2, Too Human, Ninja Gaiden II, Splinter Cell 5: Conviction, Banjo Kazooie 3, Mass Effect 2, Lost Odyssey, and Alan Wake..

The only exclusives I can see me playing for the PS3 is Uncharted(which has no multiplayer..), MGS4(which isn't even out yet), and Resistance(which is mediocre).

Yup, because they never bought broken merchandise, they just sucked at assembling due to the early launch date. But hey, it's not happening anymore. The only reason it's still happening is because the ones from the early launch date still haven't RROD'd yet but that's about it.

KZ2 just very unimpressive....

Seen it before average game... consumers stay away from the PS3 is just a movie player with laggy games..

You think they would make something different but its just a average game...

Once again the PS3 disappoints... :(

I play killzone and it was better than gaylo1 & 2.Also about the graphics thing your right Halo 3 & Gears get it.

I did play killzone, for like an hour, and I dropped it. It sucked.
What @Aztec23 says is blasphemy. That's why, even though most of my postings are peaceful, I felt an overwhelming urge to attack him :)
Killzone could never even dream of being on the same league as Gears. Not in any fanboys' wildest dreams.

Very nice to put the game rankings up... like I repeast KZ@ is nothing but a average game...
IGN: 7/10
Gamespot: 6.9/10
Gamecritics: 7/1

Not impressed by the lag and see the game freeze on my buddy. PS3 is a powerful machine for playing movies but honestly I'll stick to the other consoles for gaming...

just like to add that if killzone was such a bad game why would they have made a second one, why have the graphics made a dramatic difference??? if it was only a soso game dont you think they would have kept the sequal on ps2 and not waste money on ps3.
now look at HALO. first off i cant hate that game to much it was fun 1 & 2 . but there was no dramatic visual change in 3. just a money game and a savor for the xbox.

Well.. they still think it's a "Halo killer," even after they lied about their little trailer, although they did make it up a little with the graphics I guess.. But yeah like mercisan, 50 Cent has another game, go figure!

And about Halo.. uhh.. that's because you're comparing it to Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War, those two games focus a lot on black, white, and other dark colors rather than Halo which takes a step towards millions of colors.

AGAIN, good graphics don't make a good game, the graphics of Halo 3 never stopped it from being an incredible game. I think it's way more fun than Call of Duty 4 for Christ's Sake..
