Fable 2 deserves this award, Assassins Creed fighting and Sims type stuff, but L4D was close behind

I can see how Fallout 3 could win best RPG and Fable 2 win Game of the Year.... The categories had different criteria. I doubt that the decision is made purely on personal opinion.

The fact that LBP didn't even get nominated for GOTY (while R2/GOW2/FABLE 2/LEFT 4 DEAD all got nominated instead of it) is a joke.

Well if you guys remember a couple of years back, Half Life 2 won best shooter and Halo 2 won GOTY... So this isn't the first time it's happened

What the hell? Fable 2 game of the year?! make me laugh G4. At least MGS4 and LBP won something. But game of the year should have been MGS 4 or Gears 2

That was retarded how would Fable win Goty but not RPG?MGS4 won 3 sub catagories and didnt win the fact that the no lag 60 player multi of R2 didnt win multiplayer and did Gears win anything?G4 sucks they ruined gaming G Phoria,best of 2008 there a joke.

I'm a little puzzled by the GOTY choice too, but I'm glad to see Left 4 Dead got acknowledged and won 2 categories, really love that game. Go Valve

Yea, why would Fallout 3 be a better RPG than Fable 2, but Fable 2 miraculously be GOTY over Fallout 3? It was my impression that once a game was decided to be in a particular category like "Role Playing," then the game would have to be judged on its merits like gameplay, story, and originality, and not by which one better conforms to established standards of said category. So I really fail to understand why Fable 2 would lose in one category against Fallout 3 and within another.
