I'm really interested in what the Wii U can do. Devs have speaking highly of this thing so I might give it a shot this gen.

Frankly I'm excited about the new consoles. (Well not the Wii U) Sorry Nintendo but your interface is too gimmicky.

The only thing I'm really hoping for for the new consoles are new franchises.

If it's just stuff like CoD 2014, Halo 5, GoW4, FF15, etc. I'm not going to be too exited.

Well said Adam, seems everyone knows just how well the 360 is doing.

Just read a report that said developers found the Wii U to be less powerful than the PS3 and 360.

We all knew new consoles are coming. It is no surprise, merely the life-cycle of the industry. And to be perfectly honest, what the new consoles can do won't matter to the average consumer. It is all about the launch, or shortly after launch, line up. It won't matter if the console draws you in Tron-style to play, without the titles to back it up you'll see a repeat of "I'll stay with my PS2 and wait it out" let down in sales expectations. Folks won't care if Xbox has blu-ray if the only game they can play is CoD.

The hardware will never be as exciting as software to the average consumer. Learn from the past or repeat it.
