If any of the rumors about not being able to play used games are true, I'm done with consoles. I can't afford to pay full price for games, so you lose me as a customer entirely if I can't get my games pre-owned.If one console allows used games and another doesn't, I know which console I'll want to own. Get it through your heads, console developers, used games help sell consoles.
What I may have to buy a new system... I have almost 5 games for the PS3 or XBOX.... i forget what games I have of which... I am mostly a PC player. :(I am not interested in Nintendo's system. Most systems will probably have so few titles that is not worth it - from a year into it, I think.
as long as the PS4 is backwards compatible, itll be a buy from me. if not, ill be sticking with my Ps3 until they no longer make games for it and it dies....also, want to see cross game chat. as a Ps3 fanboy, i always have to admit the xbox is superior when it comes to chatting with friends online. and it pains me lol. would be sweet to see it come with SSDs. hopefully by 2013/2014 SSDs come down enough where they can stick like an 80GB or better a 120GB (or have options) but this is just something thatd be nice, and not something i think NEEDS to be in there, like the first two things i mentioned. also, bring back 4 USB slots, or more. im still thankful i have my original PS3, cause i use all 4 USB slots. i could live with 2, but its nice to have 4+ :) uhhh. what else? better hardware is a given. yea. idk. thats about it off the top of my head that i would like to see :)
I'm still loving my PS3.
Orbis + Naughty Dog = : D
I'm in no hurry to get a new system. Graphics took a pretty huge leap this generation due to HD, online gaming became popular, and downloadable marketplaces allowed for all sorts of new experiences. While there are subtleties that can be improved upon, I think the next generation of consoles will not be as big of a step. Games still look impressive, and I'm still amazed with each new major release. That's why I'm hoping we don't hear anything at E3. I'd much rather get announcements in 2013, and releases in 2014. I'm still extremely happy with my PS3 and Sony's arsenal of 1st party developers.
I've gotta say, I'm not the least bit interested or excited about the new consoles. The only one I can see myself and even others getting slightly excited for is the Wii U since it is from Nintendo. I could care less about the Wii U but it is Nintendo with their first party games that stand the test of time. If they manage to push the hardware enough and nab as much 3rd party support as they can Sony and Microsoft will be done for.Sony and Microsoft are definitely going to have a tougher time this generation. Their consoles are getting closer and closer to PCs in that they are becoming (or at least trying to) graphical power houses and media hubs. Meanwhile both companies seem to have burnt out their first party IPs. The market for brown and bloom shooters is so diluted that Resistance, Gears, and even Halo aren't as great as they once were. Not that it matters in that department though, Activision could just release Call of Duty in console form and it would still sell...Then you have titles like LBP, Forza, and Uncharted along with IPs synonymous with the success of consoles such as Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, and Metal Gear which have all been milked dry at this point. So what are they hoping we will be attracted to with these new consoles, the core clock of its GPU? Doubt it...Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at is that if you're interested in games then you shouldn't need to look much further than this current generation. Everything to come, at least for the foreseeable future, will just be a rehash of what we already have. If you're interested in technological improvements then might I suggest you take two steps back so you get a better view of the PC you're probably sitting in front of to read this?
Heres an idea. They keep making money by sticking with the current gen and we keep saving money by not having to buy a new console yet. Its a win-win. I will not be buying new hardware in the next several Years, unless there is something spectacular on them. I am backlogged with enough games to play for the next year or so. So unless you have an lineup that would make me forget about an Elder Scrolls 6, don't release a console anytime soon.
Calling it now, Playstation 4 will win with Kingdom Hearts 3 in launch line up.
Nintendo knows they can't win a fair fightso they gotta get out a year early.People still cling to Nintendo and for what,2 games? Zelda and Mario? Supposedlythey get some support this round but..It might be too late.Playstation is just always too good, buteven the rumours coming out about it...LoL who am i kidding. Sticking to PC.
what with the gears of war series done (unless they make a prequel) i might actually go with another company besides microsoft if sony gets it through their head that the controllers are too small and i shouldn't have to buy a 3rd party controller to enjoy the console, although i love online gaming and nintendo and sony really lack in that department, you can argue with me all you want but ps3 online sucks. anyways i will not buy it day 1 since i did that with the 3ds (it was a gift) and the ps vita and they have some good games but i would rather have the library my xbox has for a year or 2 until the consoles have some games that actually look like they improved
This is nothing more than the Chris Christie approach, Sony and MS are just gauging interest.
Nintendo is the only one who needed a new console. The 360 and PS3 are fine. No one wants to pay hundreds of dollars for a new system when the PS3 and 360 work fine.
We all know M$ is going to have hardware problems and fail for the third time in a row. Honestly having Activision speak for your company is a BAD thing, it's not like they have any quality products or respect in the gaming community.Provided they don't do something stupid like cut a physical format I'm once again going with a Nin/Sony combo. Best price for the best games and reliable hardware. Hopefully with a few unique features too but that's not necessary.
Does anyone really need a new console? Has everybody played every game already?
Dam I just bought a PS3 Slim and now the PS4 might come out next year. Knowing how Sony loves to screw it customers, they might price the PS4 at $500. If that happens I;m happy with my PS3 for e next 10 years
Honestly i could care less about a new generation no consoles so soon. i've only had my PS3 since like 2010 and have only scratched the surface of games for it. i've play GTA4, all of the GOW games, Metal Gear Solid 4 and even Batman Arkham Asylum, but haven't played any of the Assassin's Creed games past number 2, never played RE5 past the demo, and still haven't played Batman Arkham City , Saints Row 2 or 3, the recent Mortal Kombat, and many, many others, games are just too expensive and i refuse to trust used games on my PS3, so i won't need a new console for at least another 4 or 5 years at the rate i'm going. i say take as much time as you need Sony, Microsoft. i;ve barely gotten to know the lovely lady PS3, why would i wanna dump her a new women so soon?
I approve Adam, seems everyone knows just how much better the 360 is.Clearly this link shows a great example. Call of Duty is one of the best games ever and Microsoft signing a deal with them just proves how great they are. http://www.eurogamer.net/art icles/2012-01-27-activision-wh y-xbox-360-gets-call-of-duty-e lite-maps-first
