MMOs have usually initial success, the problem is what comes next. I would be surprised if after 3 years it has more players than the current 1.8 million the game consumes a lot of money , I doubt it has already paid the investment and all the money poured on it.

The money needed to produce more content especially with so many quests pending on previous decisions, character, classes and factions is to high and SWTOR will never be more profitable than WOW.

But above all it fails to really innovate the systems we all are tired of being forced to do.

i dont know how successful it really is... specially considering since me3's debacle attendance seemse to have gone way down

(i'm sure it also has something to do with a lack of end game content and denying the length and bredth of the legacy system, but I'm equally sure that mass effect at least had something to do with it)

The whole Game A ripped off something from WoW is an ignorant statement. Did you know that DAoC had battlegrounds years before WoW did? Guess Blizzard "ripped that off" from Mythic. Achievements? Well City of Heroes had the same years before WoW did. I could go on.

Bioware took what worked and didn't for a lot of MMO's and applied it to SWTOR. Just like previous MMO's did the same with their predecessors.

Also interesting that they had Morgan here. She was the one that said in her review of SWTOR 3 months ago that it "would be fun for 2 to 3 weeks, then go back to WoW". Well that didn't happen, in fact Blizzard said they have felt the impact of SWTOR. No hard numbers yet, but the 1.8 million losses were BEFORE SWTOR, so possible WoW is under 10 million now.
