Sad fact, but I think that EA has it in their EULA, TOS, or TOU that they can cut access without warning or reason. Just sucks....

This episode of feedback was nucking futs! at one point i could barely tell what was going on cause of the bleeping out and then boom child rape. that is the only thing that should have bee bleeped out! Any way Stephen Johnson is the man. Nikole you are a smokin hottie. Morgan you gotta be more respcetful to others likes. And Blair... you are one sick puppy but that's ok because it was much more entertaining this week.

I work at GameStop. I noticed that the Cerberus network cards available in our new copies of Mass Effect 2 all expired on January 1st, 2012. I informed the regional managers via email to warn people, and got no responses whatsoever from anyone. They DON'T care.

    That was... an interesting Feedback...

On to business. Even though I don't have any of those games from EA, I still think it's setting a dangerous precedent for other game companies to follow, like what was said here on Feedback.

Love this show but obviously Blair has never seen the HBO Documentary "Hot Coffee". How hot is too hot for drive-up coffee because these are the actual burns sustained:

[rant]Man this feedback was pretty disappointing in many ways, starting to not really get that excited about feedback as much as I did 5 months ago.

I find it funny how feedback actively filters out bad language(even from posting comments!) and is quick to apologise if one lets slip, But is totally fine with talking highly of taking drugs, drinking and Blairs comment about having sex with children was over the top. Don't get me wrong, I'm an adult and I don't get offended with stuff like this in the context it was used, I can understand his humor. But c'mon? If you're going to say stuff like that remove the beeps from bad language. it's stupidly hypocritical.

As for the actual content, this episode was pretty bland with no real in-depth discussion. Maybe I'm the minority with the view that blizzard/activision has totally whored out WoW in many ways over the past 3 years. This scroll of resurrection thing felt like a total kick in the face to WoW players. Needless to say I jumped ship long before this came into effect (9months clean) due to how cata turned out and not being impressed at all with kung-fu pandas, so I'm not really losing any sleep from it. But as a massive blizzard fanboy I feel it's really hurt their image. But yeah, I'll be crossing my fingers and hoping this trend doesn't continue from blizzard (And feedback)[/rant]

i dont see what the big deal about ea shutting down servers. companies have been doing this for years. now only its a big deal because of the company that's doing it. 3 years down the road i don't care about the online of said game because i won't be PLAYING IT. and i saw the list of games that was out that ea are shutting down the servers too and ALL OF THEM SUCK!!!!!!!

I really enjoy watching Feedback every week. I'm not the biggest gamer, and most of the games you guys talk about I will never play. But I still find the conversations interesting and entertaining. I really think this panel of people is the best you've done. It's nice to have viewpoints from younger people like Nicole as well as more experienced guys like Stephen.

Thanks G4, keep up all the good work!

I never thought about the effect shutting down servers could have on DLC authentication. I don't care about multiplayer, so server shutdowns have never concerned me. But if we get to a point were we start bricking single player add-ons that I paid extra for I'll be outraged. At that point I'll be forced to sue and/or burn down an EA office building.

Great episode; more quaalude/ether discussions, please.

As for EA, they don't seem to understand how to release control of a game and allow community support once their cash-cow has stopped giving milk. I was super pissed when I bought Mercs 2 to play with my cousin, and the co-op had been taken down a month before.

Here's a tip, EA: release non-dedicated server updates when you feel like you aren't banking enough. I'm sure you still get money when I buy the digital dist. version of games. Don't just say, "Sorry, we're too greedy to support your game, so suck it." A simple update to change the framework from dedicated to a listen-style, player-hosted framework would be good.

Not only would it be good for those of us who want to play older games, it would be good for business. Right now EA is just a money-grubbing giant. They could be money-grubbing giants who at least give a crap about their community.
