Kinda like a game that advertises that you're in control, your choices matter, and then they give you 3 endings that are identical except for a couple details? That kind of "fundamentally broken"? If they do come out with an ending DLC, and they make you pay for it.... ^

As for the day one DLC, I didn't mind it. First, the explanation makes sense as a developer. In order to have a new squad member that you can interact with through your entire game, there is content that needs to be there throughout the entire game. For instance, if you decide to bring the Prothean and Liara with you to save the Krogan female, then there are dialogue lines that the Prothean has as a member of your squad. They could have put all of those lines in the download, which would have made it huge. And it would have meant that when you go on that mission, your platform has to constantly switch between what's on the disk, and what's in the download. The slower performance and larger download translates into a poorer player experience. Or, they can take the dialogue, which has to be recorded well before anything else is done, and slap that on the disk so that it's ready. They can take the character model, which is just a 3D model, texture, and animations, all of which are probably going to be done in advance of any of the coding of the mission itself, and slap that on the disk too. Then, all you have to download is the actual mission. That seems perfectly reasonable to me.
