I don't think i quite understand or agree with ses on this review. To me he sounded like he didn;t like it because he couldn't connect with the game. What kind of connection is he looking for. The game you can take home to mom? Maybe he was just unable to connect because he's burnt out of RPG's.. Do you feel drawn in to every quest in skyrim? I know you love that game. If that's the case than that makes no sense. the quests in skyrim are nothing special.
I'm not sure that is even a valid point for this game.
I listened to some lore stuff on the demo. and yea i wasn't omg i want to know everything and everyhing about this chick, i never have felt that way of any mmorpg or rpg in general. I don't take in the story of games like that 100%. But Actually i was quite intrigued with amalur's beginning dialogue. Not all of it, but some quests were original. Things i've never heard before. Story lines aren't always exciting but kingdoms of amalur at least gives you partially original quests.
Honestly I feel like he didn't really describe the quality of the gameplay over the intense feeling of omg i dont really wanna play. I would be more concerned with the repetition of dungeons and outdoor locations.

thicksomega: g4 said it was a 2.4. thats not the only opinion. the community game it twice the score. Other reviewers think the game is 4/5, 5/5, 9/10..so good job with your final decision.
Games like this are the perfect reason demo's exist. If not for the demo i would be confused as hell with the mixed reviews. I highly enjoyed the flawless fighting system mixed with the class based specs and no barrier classes.

I read the review and I respect the Adan's option. I do not agree fully with him or the other reviews all the time, but in many cases the reviews on G4 give sold reviews. It says something that games have come so far that they be a major let down or not live up to hype (Fable 3, Dragon age 2). You can see it in Adams soupbox. I remember him doing a panel for the game, plus G4 covering the games development. I do have a question for the staff. Does having a average score or bad score effect future dealings with companies that with G4tv to promote there product before launch?

I agree with your review Adam, but it was a bit more harsh than expected. The demo did not do much for me, but solidify my initial opinion of it from the very first time previews of the game appeared; I just knew the game would not be that great, I mean come on, the character would stand there like an idiot just staring while the ugly character models conversed with him or her, the voice work was subpar, the story was not that interesting and none of the characters come even close to being memorable. There was nothing in that demo that made say, "wow, that is awesome!" It could have been better, just have to wait and see if a possible sequel will do better.

LOL, these idiots are removing posts that disagree with baldy Magee.

I really expected this. They usually hype games like this into oblivion, then turn on it once they actually play it.

It's not a flop, it's just one mas opinion versus the majority that have gave it a better score.

I figuered it would be a flop... Disappointing to say the least
