at the end he brings up the point of the size and how man purses don't do well in america...BUT right before that he says he has a phone and an IPAD.....

last i checked the ipad is way bigger than the vita. I don't see how people who don't have a problem carrying the ipad around complain about carrying the vita around.

@Hydrafiend ...vita will die you said? just wait to see a new Persona/Monster Hunter land on the system and say that again...

Ok guys. A lot of you are forgetting one important thing. Don't judge the Vita despite appearances and stating it will sell poorly due to price and whatnot. Look at the PS3 when it first came out..It was pricy and had no games. And to think, it wasn't handheld, console, it was a home console! Seeing ports or not, we should be lucky to even have something so great at launch. But I do agree that Sony needs to do something different rather than releasing ports over and over again. To me, they're just a wasting everyones money.

What makes a good gaming system? Certainly not the console itself, but the games! You think you were blown with this awesome line-up ? It makes me even more excited what they'll plan for E3!

A couple of things I think Sony should consider:

What made the PSP sell horribly? Well for starters, they need to release more ports worldwide! I'm a huge Monster Hunter and Tales of Fan and was very disappointed with the amount of games I saw not making its way worldwide. That is definitely an area Sony needs to work on. If they still want to repeat their own mistakes from the past, the Vita will certainly be hacked in a heartbeat.

Another thing Sony needs to work on is creating a new series just exclusively for Vita! Look at Gravity Daze for instance. Its something sort of new we haven't seen in while. Just the ideas implemented using gravity to break your falls, defeat objects, etc. It feels so new its something most gamers would learn to appreciate.

I'm not trying to go kamakazi here. But those are basically the 3 things that needs improvement:

    1. Less ports
    2. Seeing some sort of new series like Gravity Daze exclusively for the Vita
    2. Seeing less games being kept in Japan and imported world wide (such as the monster hunter/tales series).

I honestly believe 100% if Sony does this, this will be the best handheld gaming device for this generation.

I have to agree with Sessler because when I have asked my friends which I thought knew a lot about gaming devices they had know clue what the Vita was. I plan I buying one but not when it launches in February for two reasons one don't have the money and two I thought I would ask my parents for the money on my birthday in May. The games that are being released for it look great but like sessler said some of the titles that are for the vita have already been on the ps3 for example Uncharted but that might help the vita being it has such an early release date.

Aren't 3DS sales much better now, thanks to the fact that they actually started offering games worth playing?

I love my PS Vita, I sold my ipad 2 so I can buy it from Japan. Must say, havent regret it yet. Now I carry my GS2 and Vita for gaming. And I havent played my PS3 since December 23, thats when I received my Vita. It feels great being able to earn trophies on the go.

the thing with the vita that worries me is the price...
the 3DS had issues at launch not only with the launch titles but i feel like the price was a huge issue. At the launch the 3DS, a game and the console were just about $320 with tax. When the 3DS dropped in price we saw a dramatic increase in sales even if the games were not all that great yet. I don't think the parents of the kids that want a Vita are going to pony out $320 for the console( given the games are not expensive) and a game and the data plan than come with it. Recently the AT&T data went up in price and it has affected the Vita's pricing.

As a nintendo fan i gotta admit the Vita looks damn impressive but, ill wait till the price drops. i cant really afford games for both the Vita and the 3ds at the moment not to mention all the great games coming out early in the year. Here's looking at you; bioshock: infinite, RE: revelations, and Mass Effect3. My wallet is already hurting

I find it hard to believe that a company, such as Sony, is ignorant about the consequences of releasing the Vita in the first quarter. Their is a reason why they aren't advertising the Vita with less then a month away from launch.

I feel this reason is because they don't expect to sell a mass amount of Vitas when it launches. I think that regardless of the quarter, it probably won't have a strong start off into the market anyways, hence the $250 price tag.

Just like the 3ds, the people who will run out and buy the Vita on launch are gamers. Why spend mass amounts of money to advertise a product to a "casual gamer" when I don't know a single one who would shell out $250 for an xbox let alone a handheld? They already have their Ipad or facebook games.

We, the gamers who are absorbed by the hobby enough to go to sites like G4, already know of it's existence. You can't go to the G4, or others, home page without some story about it. The gaming media is practically advertising the Vita for free to the market that Sony only expects to sell to during launch.

Just as they let the media get the word out on their product to us, maybe they are expecting us to give "the hands on" and "word of mouth" to our families and friends. This approach gives people a better chance to see why it is worth the measly $250 comparably to an Ipad, and at the same time, give average consumers time to pay off their credit cards for that next round of Christmas.

Hate to say it folks, the Vita is going to die. Sure, it will sell really well, initially, due to the hardcore gamer crowd that is also interested in handheld gaming, but this system will have virtually no casual gamer market penetration at all. $250.00, and then oh yeah-you have to spend another $100.00 to get 32gb of memory? The games look great but they are going to be priced around what-50 bucks?

I just don't see parents opting to buy this thing for their kids over a 3DS. As for more casual gamers, I think they are more than happy with their iphone games. I am more of a core gamer, and I am pretty happy with just my ipod touch games when I ride light rail to work. Without any kind of market penetration in to that non-core gamer consumer this system is doomed.
