Why Dems & Repubs WANT the NDAA Bill passed....
BOTH parties, Democratic & Republican Politicians have a lot to loose if NDAA is NOT passed! Why? Because they both have "cash cows" in Wall Street & the big Banks! Also, the 99% do not allow Political parties of any persuasion to join them! They're main goal is to end Politics as we know it...They are neither Republican nor Democrat...they want to end the Corporate Financial Intervention in Politics!
The 99% OWS has become a threat to both Parties because both parties are funded & sponsored by Wall Street Banks & Corporations! The Democratic Congress & Senate & President Obama have talked about "cleaning up" Wall Street but have been reluctant to do anything other than talk & go thru the motions with the DOJ holding countless hearings that went NOWHERE!
Neither Party, nor Wall Street expected the 99% OWS to become so big, so invasive & "scary"! They probably, with bipartisanship said, "we had better put in place a Military like police force to BREAK this movement up, before it shuts down Wall Street & Government!" Thus, the NDAA! Our Country was getting National News coverage ... Other Countries, like Greece, were sending "Congratulations we are proud of the Americans & the 99%"! Not once did we hear one word from our President, or his Secretary of State!~
With the passage of NDAA the Occupy Movement will come under attack more frequently & with much more anger & abuse than we have seen thus far!
I have asked, "Why NDAA NOW? Why is it so necessary "NOW" & HOW DID IT PASS thru the House & Senate so quickly & without even a filibuster?"
NDAA was pushed thru both houses by both parties ...TOTAL BI-PARTISANSHIP on a bill that will allow U.S. Citizens to be arrested, without charges & detained indefinitely, without bond...exactly what we have seen happening in every city with an Occupy Movement! You could be peacefully protesting one minute & thrown to the ground handcuffed thrown in a police "transport van" carried away to "where ever" locked up without being mirandized or allowed a phone call!
Why? Well, just like it says in NDAA, you could or were determined to be a "threat to the government!" We have already witnessed Military like Police herding 100's of Occupiers onto a bridge, where they were blocked off, handcuffed & arrested..
Last week in Los Angeles, occupiers were handcuffed, arms behind their backs & made to kneel for hours on concrete...a reporter among them reported that some actually "passed out"...torture...even b4 being arrested ... Legal or illegal?
NDAA will make it perfectly "LEGAL"

This gets rid of your 6th amendment rights, among other rights. Think about it, we only have 27 amendments in the Constitution. If we can't have a society that follows those few laws, then it isn't worth it. As Benjamin Franklin said, "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Kevin you should really stay away from OP ED pieces and stick to what you know. I watched this and then went and did some research on the subject. NDAA is what allows the DoD to operate for the fiscal year. There are only one section that refers to detainees and that would H.R. 1540 Title X subtitle D. I read the title and it was really clear in the language to me. A U.S. Citizen can not be detained indef per sec. 1032(b). But hey I might be misunderstanding something. English is my first language.

I checked the websites that were shown during your segment. Along with a few others including Forbes and not one site actually showed proof of what they were talking about. If you are going to post or go on air or report how about giving us facts and where you got those facts. That way a person could make up their mind.

Other than that I love the show and am off to shoot arrows into knee caps. Peace
