    In L.A. Noire's defense, the game was awesome. Too bad those who were expecting "GTA 5" can't see the brilliance of this game. BTW, Catherine ftw in it's category and I'm still pissed at X-Play for the Uncharted 3 snub. Pissed I tell ya!

    Wow. When Spike TV is less biased against something than you, it's time to rethink your options.

    I'm willing to bet decent money that most of the people who bash the wii don't own one or traded it in years ago when there werent as many quality games. Each of the consoles have quality games AND crappy games (which I'll add, are the fault of the developers, not the console, but that's besides the point) and if you refuse to give each console a chance then a) you're depriving yourselves of quality material, and b) you don't even get an opinion in the matter. It's not even a matter of "Zelda's an old franchise it should be there" Skyward Sword was a QUALITY entry in all aspects, and it truly does deserve to be nominated for more than motion control.

    I mean look at at L.A. Noire: it's nominated for a gamePLAY award for it's ANIMATIONS? i'm lost on that one. They effectively turned Skyward Sword into an impressionist painting and it gets doesn't get a nod for art direction? There's no way they could over look Skyward sword unless they're biased against it. No way at all.

    Don't mistake me for a nintendo fanboy because I treat all systems equally (currently playing through Skyrim as i'm typing this and picking up the last two ME in preparation for ME3) I'm just saying that people need to stop playing sides and give kudos when it's due.

    Let's see game of the year goes to either Batman or Skyrim in that list the others stand no chance on the two mentioned they should have added Dark Souls, Uncarted 3, Skyward Sword and Assassin's Creed Revelations to the list.

    Incredibly confused by the lack of nominations for LoZ: SS and U3 for GOTY. I mean, Gears of War 3 is bad enough (it was fun, but it gets waaaaay more credit than it deserves), but Saints Row 3? Really?

    I've been down with X-Play since the Tech TV days. I damn near always agree with their reviews and GOTY noms but this Uncharted 3 snub just feels like they *ss raped me in my sleep!

    How the hell is Zelda not up for game of the Year or Uncharted for that matter. But really? ZELDA! Its freaking great so far and I have played every other game on this list save SMB. I am at a loss for words really. There were many great games this year and it was quite something but Zelda is quite something more than that. Its like going home. But it innovated on itself and G4 has gained a lack of respect for this. Heck even spike knew enough to put Zelda as a game of the year nominee and they are dumb as heck.

    I'm predicting Skyrim will come out on top and win. But Arkham City and Portal 2 will give it a run for it's money.

    It doesn't seem right not having Skyward Sword or Uncharted 3 as part of the GOTY conversation. Most I read thought Arkham City was not as great after the initial review, LA Noire was a huge disappointment for me, and I'm not sure the Saint's Row nomination is for real. While SMB brings 3D gaming to the table, I didn't think it deserved the nom ahead of SS or UC3. I never post to these sites, but I thought this deserved a post...
