After a trip to a museum Adam is reminded of video games and how the technology of the time is used by artists to express their ideas and amaze the audience.

Yes. Love this soapbox. This is what I watch Sessler's Soapbox for, not for "this game is great and this is why" talk, but talk that looks at video games outside the vacuum of video games' existence, relates it to other worldly happenings. Loveitloveitloveit

The best games are like an artistic masterpiece. All aspects balance into a sense of perfect decorum. Immersion is instantaneous and there is a feeling of uniqueness to the experience.
The problem with games as art is that you have a sort of classical versus romantic divide as to whether art should be depicting a reflection of reality or shedding light on the inner genius of its creators. It is when we balance this divide that the game becomes something decorous and sublime.

Saving this soapbox. One of, if not the best, soapbox's I've seen in a while. The way you articulated your words and made that serene comparison of influential art to modern day "art". Yes I believe video games are art. When you play things like Skyrim and Uncharted, how can they not be.

I think this is the kind of thing that had been mentioned by Adam, and perhaps other members of the G4TV staff, about what it takes to be a great game journalist. It is important to inject thoughts and observations you've had about other media into your writing as Adam has demonstrated here. I know next to nothing about renaissance-era art, but given the examples provided in this soapbox and the way Adam described them, I've looked at the issue of new gaming technology from a new direction with a severity I've never experienced before.

This is probably my favorite soap box. Incredibly incite-full but also somewhat depressing because it makes me regret my decision of not becoming an artist. When Adam can illicit an emotion like that from me it exemplifies his prowess of putting forth a well constructed opinion.

Hey Adam Can you do a piece that tells everybody every thing 343 is doing to alienate the bungie halo fans. 343 recently released a aniversery map pack. With the release of that DLC 343 has made it a requirement to have purchased this DLC to play maps modes, and playlist that were origanally open to every one with just the core game. Now that has happened 343 is forcing all of those who had already purchased the game and had already spent there money on Halo:Reach to either suffer and lose content that was fairly purchased then stripped or forced in to another purchase(1500 micrsoft points) to buy the DLC to play content that had already been paid for. Why isnt there a lawsuit of anykind reguarding this?
