I love doing the challenge maps so I dl'd this last night. Got to say, Robin is roughly 347% better than Nightwing and Catwoman. Fantastic game but both of those characters are a letdown. Catwoman is fast but pretty weak and her takedowns are way too slow and she might as well be fighting naked with her terrible armor. She also has crap in the way of gadgets, but she is just a thief. Most of her challenges are pretty lame due to her lack of gadgets and she's a pain to navigate the maps. She's super fast in combat but slow and clunky during predator and the main game.
Nightwing is almost as fast as Catwoman but Rsteady decided to make him use his sticks exclusively, which slows him down and prevents you from getting into a decent rhythm while fight . Since he does not wear a cape, he cant glide. It would be nice if Rsteady made use of his acrobatic skills but at least they gave him the line launcher to make up for the missing cape. He's also missing a few key gadgets and the ones he has are largely worthless in combat, and very impractical during predator. For example, the stun blast needs height to be affective, so when used in combat, there's a small area or affect that keeps you grounded too long and will leave you open to attack. You can also throw your sticks to hit multiple targets if aimed, but there's not aiming during combat. You can only quickfire the stick to hit a single target and it's much slower that firing a Wing Ding. The tranq dart is also worthless during combat. You have to aim, fire, then take down the target, and lose your combo in the process.
Robin, on the other hand has multiple explosives, a shield to bash or deflect, controlled batarangs, a batclaw that gets you out of trouble instead of the reverse, and he's as fast as Nightwing without the awkwardness of duel wielding. Not only that, he's not stuck using the terrible Damien Robin costume or the disappointing Dick Grayson version of the Robin costume. Red Robin FTW.
Basically, skip Nightwing and avoid using Catwoman. Pick up Robin ASAP....and I a a geek.
That is all.

@Sardonicapple:
Agreed. When I bought the "Nightwing" pack, I thought he would be playable in the story, like Catwoman. Billing him as a "playable character" is misleading. It would be just as easy to name these DLC packs "Challenge Map Characters" or something similar.
That being said...fantastic game.

I like your review of the coming DLC but I wish I was told ahead of time the Nightwing did not have as much content as this DLC for the same price. I felt a little ripped off that Nightwing was not a storyline playable character.

Cool, now I just hope they release the "Professor Genki Hyper-Reality Pack" for Saints Row: The Third.
