The design isn't the prettiest thing in the world.
The gaming laptop weighs almost 9 lbs, which isn't the lightest thing to carry around.
The GT780DXR is packed with features, including 5 USB ports (2 of them are 3.0).
There are subtle touches of brushed steel to break up the monotony of the black plastic.
The keyboard looks pretty slick: it's backlit and fully programmable.
You can change the colors and pattern for it to blink.
We found the keys themselves to be somewhat unresponsive.
The trackpad is a little small but if you're gaming, you're going to be using a mouse anyay.
The size of the laptop is partially due to the 17.3" screen and sizable speakers.
It's full HD with 1920x1080 resolution.
The color was very good, vibrant, and accurate and the backlight was brighter than most.
We were particularly impressed with the vertical viewing angle on this.
As far as sound was concerned, the speakers were fantastic.
Two front facing speakers and a down-firing subwoofer gave us one of the best sounding laptops we've tested.
Even at full volume, there was no distortion to speak of.
The laptop performed great: it comes with 12 GB of RAM, NVDIDIA's 570M graphics processor that has 1.5GB of video RAM.
There's also an Intel core i7 processor that runs at 2 Ghz but can be overclocked all the way to 2.9Ghz.
When playing Battlefield 3, we were able to use the graphics set to the highest levels with almost no frame rate issues.
When we went to play multiplayer, we had to take the settings down to normal.
