First of all, I dunno about R6 Vegas but I know the difference between R6 and CoD. R6 is more tactical than a action-shooter in urban/counter-terrorism setting with a highly advance AI and gives you a sufficient or rather an illusion of freedom (since real freedom was not available at that time) to meet the objectives given (and to mention that they'd done this first not on a next-gen console) that was far ahead of its time; back when CoD was in WWII. Sure, it's another first-person view thing that the CoD is SO FAMOUS about but I can tell, this is NOT a CoD. CoD will put you on a drama-story-driven by war. But this... it gives you options how to advance the story, hence kiss the wife immediately or shoot the victim rather than let your team mate push him on which you take the responsibility... (or so it seems). This is what Rainbow Six is about, back when it was first a novel. And the humble gesture of the developers to communicate with the audience is prove to be crucial since they are delving into a realm dominated by CoD and not to suffer the consequences felt by the Battlefield 3.
