Maybe G4's point of view is different than all of ours. They may be looking and Civilization as somewhat realistic based on actual history, while the others are fictional monsters and aliens. Perhaps they are not looking at the storyline of the games so much as the way war is handled from a gameplay dynamic. I never played Civilization. Is the War mechanics any good?

Nice comment Adam. You're right. They ARE all dicks.

This was a bit disappointing. WoW and Halo should be higher. The top 2 were not very epic at all. In terms of sheer epicness I would put Halo as number 1. The whole story-line revolves around this epic struggle between the entirety of the human race and a massive conglomerate of religious zealot aliens who use their belief system to rationalize genocide in order to go on a "Great Journey".

Firstly I am not a WoW fanboy. Secondly, Warcraft empirically should be #1 in this list. Its called "Warcraft" for petes sake. Its 17 year old storyline revolving around a war started when whats essentially *SATAN* enslaved a race of alien monsters to exterminate another world. Its more than even "total war", the dead have risen up to fight and *NATURE ITSELF* has had to strike down gargantuan demons. Technically the source of conflict in the warcraft universe is AS OLD AS TIME.
So its a 20 year old franchise revolving around a trans-universal war between Satan's demon enslaved army and gods creations waged since time immemorial. Kinda stomps Civilization....
