What You Need To Know
- This Samsung monitor is the 23" model but also comes in a 27" version.
- The LCD is only 0.4" thick.
- The brushed aluminum on the back is a nice touch.
- The form factor of the base seems a little odd until you realize that's where all of its brains are stored.
- There are plenty of hook up option sas well.
- Ports include 2 HDMI inputs and a co-axial cable.
- The LCD also has built-in bottom speakers that promise 3D surround sound, which were okay.
- You can't really crank it up without getting some distortion.
- If you wanted a small good TV for a kitchen or an office, these speakers will be fine.
- In 2D terms, this Samsung montior matched up against any high end LCD on the market.
- With a native 1920x1080 resolution, the colors were incredibly accurate.
- This really gave us some of the clearest pictures we've seen in a while, and there was no grain or picture noise to speak of.
- Another thing that impressed us was the viewing angle: almost 170 degrees!
- The Samsung 950 is also a 3D display, which had really good image quality.
- It does require Active 3D glasses, which you'll have to charge.
- A lot of 3D displays have issues with ghosting, but this Samsung one did not.
- The viewing angle on the 3D was still better than most 3D displays.
- Even the 3D to 3D conversation was executed well.
- This Samsung display also offers Picture in Picture and works just like it would on your television.
- You can change the size and even go split screen.
Price
Rating
- 4 Seals of Approval out of 5 (How do we rate gadgets?)
- The 2D images were spectacular and the color was spot on.
- The 3D was really impressive.
- The Picture in Picture option was a really cool feature.
- If you're looking to make the jump to 3D gaming, this is the way to go.
- The price is the only thing holding it back from being a 5 out of 5.
