the guys at ID are a great example of how you can become a triple a studio and still be very grounded and humble. i'll always respect them for not turning into an EA type company

I just had a vivid flashback yesterday to one of Doom 3's underground levels. Man, I have to go back and play that game.

After EA slammed valve for how restrictive steam is on developers, i'm surprised Carmack didn't mention a single negative thing about steam. He mentioned short cummings of pc's, 360's, and ps3's; but no complaints about steam, just a comment about how because they're releasing the pc version on steam, they have more time to work on the pc version.

Hey JOHN, Stop DRIVING around in your FERRARI and MAKE A NEW WOLFENSTEIN GAME. Y'know, one that DOESN'T SUCK. Better yet, RE-RELEASE RTCW on XBL Arcade. No one wants to play Rage,

RTCW was the best game you'll ever make, no multiplayer game to this day can top that experience you delivered in RTCW.

I am disappointed that nothing on Doom 4 was said but I still like hearing about what all goes into game development, even if I don't understand it.

He is still the man. Very interesting from an engineering and development point of view.

That would be awesome if he programmed a 2600 game. I still pop that system out once a month purely for the enjoyment.

Surprising... they dont have all platforms representing... altho if they can show how well the very poor 360 can run Rage i guess PS3 could run it better (face it the ps3 has so much more processing power than the 360, i know im gonna get thumbs down and of course PC can run it best hands down)

Eh, first things first, Rage, then Doom. There are too many games out to concern myself with the latter.
