well, you can either play by yourself, or play with a friend or anyone for that matter. however, the issue is, that you will require a perpetual internet connection regardless of how you decide to play. So, you wont be able to play the single player campaign without being connected to the internet. Im not a fan of this at all, as i plan on playing it on my laptop, something i bought so i could game anywhere i want, so long as anywhere i want has free to access wireless or hardwired internet. without it i will only be able to enjoy this game from home.

This is seriously going to limit my experience, also as hard as it is to believe there are still fans out there that dont have access to the net at home, or have a sketchy connection at best. Very disappointing.

I'm not real clear on this. Is there no single player option? An Ideal option would be for me and/or maybe a friend or 2 playing the game without others interfereing with our gameplay. Is this an option or is is "play by yourself" or "play with everyone on battlenet" as the only options?

i will say this though, aside from the online issue this game looks fantastic and the developer really seemd to have done a wonderful job.

I cant wait to play it.

Looks beautiful, I'm super stoked, i am however really disappointed with the requirement to be online at all times. The main reason i got this pimped out gaming laptop was so i could still play games where ever and whenever i wanted. What were they thinking? This seriously impedes the way i prefer to play this as well as,but not much limits their fan base.

I'm not impressed with this decision at all, its quite possibly one of the most lame decisions they could have made. I could care less about the auction house aspect as I'm generally not too concerned about what others are doing in their own games. This is because I'm predominantly a single player campaign kinda guy. If someone wants to buy a piece of armor or weapon who am i to gripe about how they do it, at the end of the day it has no effect on my experience whatsoever.

Having to be online at all times however seriously affects the way i play games. in every way possible. My question is this. Why? is it just some sort of security feature masquerading as some revolutionary new game mechanic that lets you connect to others at all times? Or do they really think that the fans care about connectivity in such a manner. I mean, if i wanna get online and play i'l just click multiplayer and go online, its not that hard really. I really hope they release a patch circumventing this, as its major annoyance. Otherwise i'l be forced to download some shoddy workaround from some shady website. As a paying fan i should be able to enjoy this game where ever and whenever i want without restrictions. Feature like this just seem to be a result of backward thinking.

I was so excited for this game, and in all honesty i still am. I know there will be some hack released giving me the ability to play offline, which is all i really want to do anyway. Its just so disappointing to read something like this in the year 2011, video game designers in this day and age have an obligation to strive towards progress, and a simple decision like this seems like a step completely in the wrong direction.
