You know, Action Platformer games seem to be a dying breed. The current generation of gamers seem incapable of appreciatting any games that aren't based on sports or don't give them the ability to use iron sights by jamming a gun down their nose. It's a damn shame, because Alice is a damn good game. I've played many FPSs this year (Bulletstorm, Brink, Duke Nukem as examples), and found none of them to be nearly as enjoyable as Alice. I can only hope that developers will look at the Gamers opinions of Alice instead of the Crtics. If they do, we might get more games as amazing as this one. And less CoD.... PLEASE, less CoD.....

I honestly don't know why this game is getting such poor reviews.
I loved the first Alice back 10 yrs ago, but after re-playing it, Alice Madness Returns beats it hands-down!
This has grown into my favorite game of the year! The more I play it, the better it gets. With all the different weapons(w/upgrades) and mix it with the Dodge and Jump and you get lots of different choices in combat. Plus the shrinking for hidden levels and secrets. etc. etc.
Try it and make up your own mind.

I'm not sure why you've got such an issue with the fighting mechanics in my opinion their just fine! It's a beautiful fantasy world filled with interesting elements that should satisfy the taste of original Alice fans.
I know I'm not alone when I say it's a great Alice game, if you look at the user reviews of this game you'll find the scores tend to be much better then critics. Personally I felt you were a bit overboard with the criticism and that people really need to check this one out for themselves.

As long as the story's good. That's what made me interested in the first place.. the different take of Wonderland from Disney's (and even Burton's.. which was pretty disappointing).

This review gives me the sads. I wanted this game to be through-the-roof awesome. First sign of trouble for me, personally, was when I found out that it wasn't fixed-3rd person, like the original Alice was. This loose-3rd person, or whatever it's called - I can't stand it. I like the camera and character automatically facing the same direction at all times. Anything else just feels disconnected to me and I've never gotten into any games that use that format. Sucks.
Ahh well. I'll probably try it anyway, way down the road.
