while i am happy that there are more developers looking into the professional wrestling franchise for development, i wish that we could finally go back to the basics of what makes a pro wrestling game great. games like WWE:Day of Reckoning and the Smackdown VS Raw (up until SVR:2007, when it was at its greatest) great.
developers try to focus on better animations, yet they still lack great collision detection and body physics. they focus too much on the drama of the matches and character models. i loved Day of Reckoning and SVR '07 because they had it all with great nuances in gameplay. they focused on more solid gameplay options and when i hit the opponent, i could "feel" the impact of the punch i just threw and i "felt" the slam of a chair into my bloody rival's face.
this demo has shown that modern developers are still deviating from what makes a game truly fun from a core gameplay perspective. while hardcore wrestling fans will appreciate all of the drama and physical similarities to the show, they cannot appeal to wider audiences whom are more gameplay-conscious. please go back to the orginal formulas deveopers!

So it looks like THQ is adding the aspects of the GameCube WWE games (WrestleMania XIX, both Day of Reckoning games) onto what SvR lacks. And if so, then it's a Godsend. About time that moves can be broken up again.
