I can't wait to see what the console can hold.I could care less if 12 year old gangstas and 30 year old manbabies don't care for the innovation. These couch potatoe elitists are too subborn for anything new anyways.I think there can be many kinds of great things to be done with this controller.Plus seeing Zelda,Mario, and Metroid in 1080p will be epic. This feels like the DS,WII and PS3 had a baby. That baby is the WII U which stands for the big four letter word to u haters and dumb jocks. Gaming is coming back to the nerds and new audience, not the hardly core ,true casuals.

What I'm hoping that comes of this is that Sony takes a clue and basically increases the remote play functionality of the PS3 / PSVita and have the possibility PS3 games playable on the PSVita when in range of a ps3.
I hope this happens because, there will already be a competing system and sony and nintendo might try to out do each other; therefore making a better experience/deal for all of us.

Every consumer wins when there's competition.

I would only have picked up the WiiU if it could work without the Wii instead of making it part of the system.

peeyoo! i don't won't a wii U! sorry, i just had to be the first to say it..... and yes, i think that nintendo has finally realized that they can't get away with JUST having casual games. Casual gaming is generally for downloadable games that the hardcore gamer gets for his wife and kids. However, i don't think nintendo is going to get many of the people away from ps3 or xbox because both of those systems have already split the hardcore gaming base between themselves and nintendo is cut out of it. So unless they get really amazing exclusive titles, people are going to stick to the consoles that they know stick with the hardcore gaming base.

Wasn't really paying attention to what Adam was saying. I saw the WoT booth in the background and was thinking I should tier up my artillery a bit more.

Well considering we haven't seen games yet and probably won't till next E3, I won't bag on this yet. But Nintendo by focusing on the visuals and giving a full controller has given a chance for hard"core" gamers to get back into them. You can still leave the casual gamers the wiimotes. The scond screen gives this system some DS like abilities, so anxious to see what comes.

First of all, let me say this. Nintendo you have made some of the most classic games that will live in the hearts of gamers for many years to come, but when the Wii came out and the graphics were worse the the orignal xbox and ps2 could do was a tremendis let down; then you had to go and not have any real multiplayers and you lost your connection with the core gamers..casual is fine but if your going to compete with 2 other companies you have to deliver. so now your going to make a whole new console with better graphics and im sorry but the conroller is horrible the screen is cool but the over all design is horrible. Nintendo dont expect Xbox or Playstation to create a new console just because your just now playing catch up on graphics 5 years later. sorry Nintendo but you lost Mii again.

It's too early to make any serious judgements about Wii U but so far I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I was expecting a spiritual successor to the Gamecube and got what seems to be more of a spiritual successor to the Wii (it even shares the same dumb name). The tech demo, however, did show off some impressive graphics which was leaps and bounds beyond the Wii but they still seemed comparable to what the 360 and PS3 are already delivering. I grew up on Nintendo (SNES, N64, Gamecube) so I hope I'm wrong but I'm still a little skeptical of whether or not the Wii U will be able to better compete with the rumored 720 and PS4 then the Wii has with current consoles.

I am cautious about this Wii U(weeak name for sure). I was not impressed at first, then I heard Arkham City and Battlefield 3 and was excited. But I am back to cautious b/c my Wii gets the lesser portion of my gaming time. I bought it 1yr after release and loved it.. for about 2 yrs. I have had to search hard to find good games on it. I see Nintendo as 80-85% casual gaming market and 15-20% core. Most of my time is spent on my PS3, and I dont consider myself hardcore(more like medium-well). I was really hoping for a next gen of the gamecube(best NES console ever). I will wait and watch(like they guys breathing heavily that calls you sometimes).

I for one am looking forward to seeing what they have to bring. You can make many reason why you don't like what you see,but in the end Nintendo(Remember they got you to buy the wii)ALWAYS brings what the other console's scramble to recreat.this looks like a psp/Wii..Looks promising to me and im a gamer who plays all console's.I have know favorite's.Im a GAMER.

This is the problem with the Nintendo. They are always trying to change the way our fingers make things move on the TV screen. What they don't realize is what really is important is the GAMES. It doesn't matter if we move a character with a control pad, waving a controller or sliding our fingers over a screen. In the end most people don't care, they just want a good game. You can only cling to Super Mario and Zelda so much. You need to come out with cool and original games. This novelty will wear out just like the current Wii is now. It just looks too cumbersome and clunky to be fun. There's just something about the classic feel of a controller and TV.

i was let down by the new concal when i saw the name it automataclly turned me off everybody says the 360 controllers 2 big but imagine holding a 10 inch screen very unconforable looking they say bf3 & batman ac will release on the system but by that time they'd been out already 4 a full yr on the ps3 & 360 dont make sence & it looks exactly like the wii epic fail

I only skimmed the comments, so sorry if this is a repeat but if Nintendo really wanted to make a console for everyone, why not release a console that has both a Wiimote ++ and a normal controller, kind of like what Sony is doing? That gives you compatibility with all Wii games and all the casual appeal you have built up in the past 6 years and you have the normal controller to appeal to us. Just put a symbol on the box signifying which controller is supported so that any idiot out there can see it and know in an instant if they will be happy with their purchase, kind of like the esrb tag. I guess that is using just to much common sense for am "innovative" company like Nintendo. no, they have to do something complicated.

that controller is apparently for the Wii U don't know bout you but i don't want to hold a 9-10 inch long By like 8 inch wide controller for playing a game. Then there's there aim at high graphical games that will be on the PS3 and 360 which better have a Big difference to warrant buying it over just playing it on a console you already have. It seems to me that Nintendo is now doing what 360 and PS3 are doing now.

You can't make the Nintendo exclusive games High res cuz there is just no way to make mario bros, Pokemon or the like any better looking then they are now

I've been with Nintendo for all my life (well maybe since four or five years old), I really don't consider myself a casual gamer, nor a core gamer really, I'm just a gamer, if the Nintendo product works and entretains me, well welcome aboard.
I'm not going to be all emotional because Nintengo gave me the best years of gaming in my chilhood, I'm just going to say that, in my opinion, Nintendo focuses on experience your games...
As a gamer, that's what I want when I play a game... to really enjoy, experience, and I don't know "submerge" if it's possible
I wonder what a core gamer wants...

Anyway, let's face it Nintendo does not always do that... but tries it

    That's just my opinion
