Need to see more. I'm a bit neutral on the whole thing. But, being the DMC fan that I've always been wants to see how much they can do with it. Still waiting before I come to a decision.

Doesn't "Reboot" mean they're remaking the whole thing, kind of? So that means they can do stuff like change his appearence and the story. Because they're remaking it. Right?

I only have a couple of things to say about this. Now, I know there are some people who like the "gritty" look of the new game, as one user put it, and to be completely honest, I don't have a problem with it. And there's really nothing to complain about concerning the hair. Based on the fact that his devil trigger still shows white (DT being a topic I'll address in a moment) I'm guessing he probably dyed it to fit in, considering his whole "embracing the human side" and such. Also, I think I saw a clip elsewhere where you could see some white.

I also like the bit where he's being interrogated. It makes me wonder if in his youth people thought that the demons he was killing were actually people, and so he's been admitted to an institute of some sort for insanity. Just my interpretation, but hey. I actually kind of imagined that happening.

The few things I don't like are these: Dante smoking, the devil trigger, and the fact that they kind of left players hanging in regards to some plot business from DMC4. The smoking thing, I know you'll probably think I'm a moron for being annoyed with, but I get caught up in details a lot. It was a big deal to the creator originally that Dante was a kickass, super cool character that people liked, who DIDN'T smoke. The not smoking thing was specifically addressed in an interview ages ago. So why the change now?
The devil trigger bugs me because supposedly dante's first trigger was in DMC3. This falls as least important on my list however, because in the DMC3 manga, which takes place a year before the game, shows him triggering, so whatever. Everyone's allowed to make continuity mistakes every once in a while.
The plot thing really gets me. With all the speculation about Nero all over the web, I was kind of wondering who he actually was and how his arm got the way it was (he says "from that day forward... my arm changed" so obviously it wasn't always like that). I'm otld they talk about a bit of what happened after DMC4 in one of the novels, but I haven't had the chance to read them yet.

I think that, even though I wanna know more about what happens NEXT, I also really wanna know what happened BEFORE, and I can overlook the smoking thing long enough to play. It looks like it has a great story line, and gameplay doesn't seem half bad either. I'll try it, personally, before I say I don't like it. And even then, I'll probably keep playing it. I'm one of those people who, once I've played one game in a series, I have to play them all. Plus, it helps keep fanfictions accurate. ;)

How about adding the option to play as the old school Dante... or a younger version of old school Dante. The gameplay looks good but like someone said above, there was really no reason to reboot the series. And I don't care if they change Dante's look, just dont make him look like a complete loser, or change his habits and personality. He might as well be a completely different person.

Apart from that, the game does look really nice even if the character isnt very badass looking. I'll probably just end up renting it though. Hopefully Dante will grow out of his new look throughout the games story, but I'm still pretty disappointed that this series was redone, if anything needs to be rebooted by Capcom its Resident Evil, cus the last two games were just terrible and not scary in the least bit.

Be prepared to cry October 15, 2011. Are they implying this game will be released on that date?

Westernization, we are creating the "Perfect" DMC game, looking to sell 5 million, the old Dante was a fashionista, what was cool 12 years ago isn't cool now, "I don't care" comment, the "Old Dante would get laughed out of a bar" comment ( no doubt made because the creator of the original Dante said he wanted the character to be someone that you would want to take a drink with in a bar), not answering fans questions at the E3 interview over the framerate,...I could go on and on.
No reason for a reboot, erasing the history of the old DMC games for this when it was still viable and the last game sold 2.7 million, the most of all.
No reason to make the movie based upon this.
No reason to redo the canon into the opposite kind of character with personality traits and habits that the creator of DMC specifically said the old Dante did not do.

I think they have thrown out a great franchise with a distinctive character with a fun personality for another story we see bent upon revenge and brutality.

I am still hoping for a DMC5 and maybe an explanation of the back story of Nero. Why introduce a character and not give his story? So many possibilities. Bad move Capcom.

The DMC series is not about the hair color or the weapons or the thumb breaking combos! is the STORYLINE coun'ts we seen already dantes origin in DMC3 and the old speechless dante in DMC2 and his nephew(some say) in DMC4 but the story really end in DMC1 when he say something in "MUNDUS" regards to his SON when he come's back hope fans of the DMC series remember it! If the NT stick to the STORYLINE of DMC series and the NEW DMC reboot my you call it DANTE jr and NERO is the arch enemy same as DANTE and VERGIL.One more the new DT for the DMC reboot its look like a compliments to the FAN's the white hair THING!!!!

This game looks AWESOME! I haven't gotten to play much of the series, but I unlike it seems some people remeber that this game is supposed to be a prequel to the entire series. It's about when Dante was younger. The hair change makes sense to me because this is a younger Dante, assuming he had normal hair when he was born and then as his powers grew and he became demony his hair changed to its unatural white. I'm excited about this game, and learning more about Dantes past

For one thing, me personally being a DMC huge fanatic; I am seriously pissed off about what they have done with it. I loved the games not for the action but for the interesting characters and story. Dante is one of my favorite characters of all time and what they are doing is deeply upsetting to me. Sure you can add on a few things on to him but they changed everything aspect. Why? cause it was boring to them. Capcom should never have given it away in the first place cause these people are ruining the best seller that they created. I will NEVER play this game at all and i won't even dare to look at it on store shelves. I'm sure people would be upset if like in a game like "Tekken" people would be pissed if they took out King or Kazuya in it. That's how i feel about the matter. People can be interested in it all they want but me, i'll go to hell before i touch it . .

While I like the games Ninja Theory's games I was sorta kinda skeptical with making DmC at 1st. DmC was a series built on fast paced action and Enslaved & Heavenly Sword exactly known for their combat mechanics. That was really my only concern about, but from what I see hear it looks very promising. I was interested before now I'm more excited for this game. I predict a 2013 release so they still have a long time to polish.

Arg, three things I'm not happy about this video:

    1) They actually decided to keep the new look for Dante, despite massive fan disapproval. But, I do approve of the white hair during devil trigger.

    2) Not really a fan of the music, and I certainly hope they stay clear of it in actual game play.

    3) What is with all of the weapons? That is one thing that has always annoyed me about the entire Devil May Cry series (and Bayonetta to lesser extent). The prime reason I loved Vergil from DMC3 special edition was because he was simplistic. He had three weapons, and only three weapons. Learning combos was fairly easy, but difficult to master. In short, DMCs aren't fighting games, they aren't games people will play together years from now and discover new tactics against each other. So why add in several different weapons, with several different combos each, that you certainly won't master in one, two, or probably even three playthroughs?

My verdict: defiantly not going to play this game at the current rate it's still going.
