I was initially VERY excited about this game...but having been in development for so long visual materpieces like Rift and Witcher 2 are coming out (not an mmo i know), and fans are getting quickly used to the higher end graphics, as we all are.

The Old Republic will tap into the always built in Star Wars fanboy nation (i'm a since age 7) and break even most likely, but this game should have come out 2-3 years ago if they really wanted to make a splash...too little too late IMO.

Doesn't look good at all. Game play looks choppy and not very interesting. Graphics are horrible. Guild Wars 2.....FTW!!

Originally I decided on jedi but once the Sith vids were released I wanted that. now I want tropper! Good job Bioware! I will say these WoW vs every other MMO arguments are getting tired. Who cares if some think this is better than WoW and vice versa? One game is newer and the other has been out for a decade and still has millions of subscribers. I personally hope both do well in the long run as it means more competition/content which is great for us.

I wish George Lucas would cross platform all of his Star War video games on all consoles,he would make 4 times the money,like he needs more money any ways because he's rich enough.

wow is an outdated game. the replayablility and amount of content is what kept wow alive this long.

star wars has all it needs to beat wow but in order to switch some of the hardcore wow fans this game needs to be cheaper. wow already charges you 160 dollars to play all year. so star wars needs to do a yearly fee of like 30-40 dollars.

this class looks awesome and im having a hard time choosing whether i want to play as trooper or jedi.

Yall need to check your lang filters tried to post 4 times and kept saying not to use profanity. Didn't on next 3 attempts and still would not let me post. But to main subject, long story short it will never catch WoW because with 5 years of dev time and still no game it will take them another 5 years for an expansion. Really, no one will wait for that and it will go the way of SWG when Sony had the brain tumor and messed with that one to up player numbers.

I am not sure what to make of this class. The armer looks like a tank but from the videos it looks like it is a pure support class.

i think it will be a contender, but to say it has the capacity to topple WoW is a far stretch. What we have are two completely contrasting universes here and each will cater to a persons interests. Also, people flock to WoW because it is tried and true, and it has an expanding game world to keep you entertained. Star Wars will need some very innovative yet simple concepts to gain an edge in the MMO genre.

End of WoW over this i think not. WoW has its ups and downs between expansions and patches but not from a star wars MMO. I quit wow at the start of Cataclysm, mainly because the story line was over and they were just dragging it on from warcraft which was nice but the cataclysm change was a bit too much to get used to. Not a fan of star wars games there all made horribly imo.
