A Real Detective Plays L.A. Noire
At G4tv, we wanted to find how good a real detective can be when playing Rockstar Games' L.A. Noire, so we got Skip Bauchman, a real detective from the LAPD, and put him to the test. Find out how well this detective does.

This was one of the best journalist piece that G4tv has ever done. It's one of those pieces that you expect from Court TV or The First 48. I believe that this could be a great training technique that maybe law enforcement; could use to educate and teaching moment: the do's and don'ts. I would love more pieces like this, that could teach more people about how gaming can contribute a lot to entertainment and education.

This has to be the best piece of games journalism ever produced. Instead of publishing yet another review created by some 20-year-old with zero life experience, G4 found the real deal, an expert with credentials and smarts, instead of an agenda. Do this kind of thing more often: Get race drivers to review racing games; soldiers to review tactical shooters; even fantasy novelists to review RPGs. People who have been there and done that would give games journalism more credibility than juvenile reviewers with nothing more substantial to offer than empty exaggeration and baditude.

This was awesome...LA Noire is a good game so far and I like that its that close to actual detective work. This is what I expect from a Network about Gaming.

this was a great video to watch. I've been skeptical about buying this game, but I keep hearing more and more great things about it, this really helped.

LOL to the guy who said they couldn't pull prints in the 40's. Which is why they mention during certain cases in the game that the evidence was rubbed with gasoline making it impossible to get any prints. This was interesting to view but it was funny how he got some of the most obvious questions in the game wrong.

His detective skills seem pretty good for the game, but he was a bit slow on chasing the suspect. If he was faster he could have caught up to him and fired a warning shot to make him stop and take him in alive. That goes more to being skilled as a gamer tho than a detective.

Really great video. I enjoyed seeing how Skip was reading the characters in the game like he would as a cop. Might take what he said into consideration when I play!

THIS is what G4 should be doing more of instead of flame baiting the fanboys for network traffic by put up another inflammatory and pointless Playstation vs Xbox comparison video.

Whomever came up with this should be promoted--very cool and very informative!

MORE OF THIS kind of article!

Wow top notch. This was really above and beyond I loved this, I'd say do more like this but you cant really get an interview with a real witcher to compare monster hunting techniques now can you. This is awesome glad to know it stacks up.
