Personally I didnt like HWaS very much because I get turned off by too much blood and gore. The acting wasn't very good either...I remember asking myself how much longer I had to wait for the end.
I came out of the theatre feeling a little disapointed, and wanted my 11 dollars back so I could put it towards buying my OWN lawnmower..

Star Trek was watchable before J.J. Abrams directed the reboot, well the even number Star Trek movie are and I'm not even a big Trekkie fan. Now, if some other director comes in and make the many Kevin Smith's movies watchable. Zing!

Hey guys! LOVE your work! (I've watched Dogma like a million times, wish I owned all your films - in the works, bros!) I LOVE Hobo With a Shotgun - I did find the "two metal dudes" a little off-the-table myself, but plus I'm SO not into blood and gore. What drew me to HWaS was the story... homeless man wants to earn an honest living. All he wants is a bloody (not literally!) lawnmower! He comes across a damsel in distress and being the fatherly figure he is, tries to protect her. Next thing he knows, he tries to protect the whole town - at a cost. I saw past the gore, the entertaining violence in this film, and both times I saw it I cried. It's a wonderful story, coloured in those things that will attract the most unlikely of audiences. BTW, did either of you catch the "bear" reference in this film? Kevin, if you want to sell your wife on this film, let her read my comment - she may think differently knowing there is an actual beautiful story hidden amongst the gutter gore.
