I think mass effect should of won this. I've never played or cared about any of the zelda games. I'm sure if I did I might like it since enough people like it for it to beat Mass Effect and everything else. Im just shocked that call of duty didnt win more than two rounds since thats all a lot of people play.

husky waited all day to play starcraft while they announced it the best franchise in the world... then crapped a half digested zergling when he found out zelda was better. but in the end, who gives a crap, both games are great and i will enjoy both, though zelda slightly more so, no matter what people say about either.

I'm surprised all the "Huskateers" didnt come in droves when Husky told his sheep to vote. While I love SC, Zelda is better, imo. Twilight Princess still remains one of my fav games ever

Zelda is better for so many reasons. It's approachable for new comers to the series and still full of the old charms for long time fans. The characters and story make the game easy to immerse ones-self in. Although the mechanics always change with the hardware, the theme of exploration and discovery have always made a fun, challenging game. I don't know much about Starcraft, but for a first time player it seems a little intimidating to just walk into without some extensive prior know-how.

I just love the IRONY and biased comments of sessler....

"zelda is the best franchise... and tomorrow the sun is gonna come up"

this just raised the expectative of who's gonna win the plasma because ZELDA WAS IS AND WILL BE the BEST FRANCHISE ever!!

Zelda = Nostalgic value, which is really the only reason it won in my opinion. Think about it for a second. Nintendo has pumped out HOW MANY Zelda games in the past 25 years? It's their cash cow, because it always sells. Of course people are aware of it, and because they played those few good Zelda's back in their childhood, they think it's the best overall franchise when that simply isn't the case. Speaking as an avid gamer of 10 years, I just can't in good conscience say that Zelda is in any way better than Starcraft, or half the starting list to be honest with you.

Never played a Zelda game, nor Starcraft for that matter but I would've rathered Starcraft win. I thought this deathmatch thing ended months ago?

Excellent. Zelda deserves this. It may not be my personal choice (Elder Scrolls was), but Zelda has impacted the industry harder than most (or all?) of the franchises out there. StarCraft honestly only made it this far because of Husky.
