Amazing how many of these titles had GT Interactive listed. Also, they seem to be PC centric. Did Doom II really have surround sound or did he mean stereo?

Let's be serious, FPSs were born on PC and were revolutionized on PC. Yes golden eye was a big hit, but it really wasn't anything special.
Hexen was more of a doom clone, I'm suprised that Tribes wasn't mentioned.

PERFECT DARK!

Yes if you don't have it already, download Doom 2 from XBLA! It's a miracle it finally came to Xbox Arcade, just bummed that WADs didn't make it in as DLC.

Goldeneye. NUFF SAID.

I can't remember the last time G4 made an ACCURATE "Best Of" series.
You left out Goldeneye 007, the defining FPS of N64.
You left out Dark Forces, one of the most popular shooters at the time, which spawned an entire string of Star Wars games.
And this last one you missed, which is almost offensive...
Starsiege: Tribes.
You left out the ONE game that outright DEFINED the future of online gaming, not to mention was the single most popular online shooter at the time.
Ugh.
jShazbot
I can' t believe they didn't mention Goldeneye. That game revolutionized console shooters.

Yeah I bought a nintend0 64 just for Golden Eye 007 !!!

Awesome, I own all of the games listed in this vid. I still play Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM on XBLA, too.

No love for Marathon? One of the first games with a progressive, story driven campaign (even if the story was all gained through terminals).

Doom and Quake changed everything for me and what made me fall in love with the FPS. My next big trend in gaming was The Sims and I always thought it would have been so much cooler if I could pull a gun and go postal on some of those annoying neighbors!
