Here's the thing.... I love spiderman and he can be considered one of my favorite super heroes. I would love to see a good spiderman game.....But I have yet to be impressed. The last spiderman game that really did it for me was Spiderman 3 and that was because of the open world and the web swinging dynamics. Web of shadows was a disapointment, as was shattered dimensions a little bit. It is possible to make good superhero games (cough batman cough), I just dont think this will give me the "wow" factor I'm looking for.

why can't we mix open world with a slew of linear missions?

So it looks like Shattered Dimensions was just a test to pick out the 2 characters that they would use for the next game? This looks like the same engine, same models, and same combat system, in the same NON open world. I'll pass.

I'm not gonna lie, this looks pretty good. Though I gotta wonder, seeing as how Activision's involved in this, how long will it be till this IP becomes nothing but a mess of sequels?

Interesting concept... problem is, in Shattered Dimensions, 2099 was the least fun of the four Spideys. I kinda dreaded having to do his levels.

Too soon and looks too similar, my first impressions are that it seems like it could have just as easily been DLC at one point, but they decided to extend it and turn it into a full priced retail game.

Willing to bet right here, right now, that after playing it there will be people saying it felt more like DLC than an entirely new game :P

I don't mind a spiderman game being linear as long as they do it correctly. I should feel like spiderman at every moment in the game. I want to see creativity in all games and not just something put together just for the sake of calling it a game. Definitely interested in the game, but I need to see something far different from Dimensions.

I hated shattered dimensions!! Web of Shadows was way better! Sure WoS was flawed in the story and voice acting but swinging around was so much fun and the combat was amazing. If Beenox is going to be making spiderman games from now on then I'm done with spiderman games.

i like where beenox is taking spiderman. i like the mission based linear design. It gives more attention to the characters and the environment. i loved shattered dimensions and im sure i will enjoy this one as well. Im a little upset they chose 2099 because out of all 4 from the last game, he was my least favorite id say, but maybe they will be able to do more with him this time around being that its only focused on 2 spidermen. I hate how people keep saying bring back the open world. That is played out way too much in games now, and dont get me wrong, spiderman is good for that type of game but its nice to see a change. Id like to see a single spiderman character game in the future, but i trust beenox with this game cause i thought they did a great job on the last one.
