i have a hard time doing "bad" things in fall out three. i destroyed the first place to go (where you get your first house) when i got to ten penny tower i went crazy and killed everyone.
Damn it Adam, its 1:30 AM and I'm about to end this episode of Feedback and you HAVE to go ahead and make a bloody obscure reference about Ray Winstone. You could have saved me the trip to IMDB and said "Yeah he's Indiana Jones's buddy in Crystal Skull" but NOOOOOOOO! I have to say, as much as I do enjoy feedback, it just doesn't feel the same without Abbie and Patrick.
I read your review Adam and I must say that I loved this game but I didn't totally deny some of the faults that you pointed out either. I think part of the reason for having the whole 5 repeated dungeons was that they might not have had all that much time for this game to be in development for as long as it needed to be. I personally liked the new combat DA2 brings to the table compared to Origins. After I completed my first play through yesterday after reading your review sunday night I saw what you were refering to as I was killing a certain elf and I can totally see how that would be annoying as hell t.rying to play through on a harder difficulty. I don't necessarily agree with you on the tactics menu though. I felt like it was pretty straight forward. And when I didn't feel like fiddling with Anders's tactics at the end I just switched him to strictly support and added in 1 ability or two into the mix and he worked out fine for the rest of the last boss fight of the game. On the flip side to what you experienced the only character that seemed to be left when the party was wiping was Aveline the Tank and she did so little damage that it wasn't even worth sitting there hitting what enemies were left unless it was just one and he had an eighth of its health left and that wasn't usually the case and this also relates to what you talked about with stamina management which wasn't a big problem with aveline because she always had most of the enemies on her like a good tank but when I did need her to use that taunt ability she didn't have any stamina left to do it with. I fixed that quickly of course though because at that time her strength and Constitution were where they needed to be and I feel like the three attributes you needed to focus on with warriors really depended on whether or not you were tanking and spanking or wacking things upside the hand with a 2 hander. Not everyone would realize this of course but it would matter which of the two you decided you were going to do. If you're trying to be a striker/dps/ dmg dealer what ever you want to call them your willpower is going to be more important than constitution becauce if you've got a healer with you which is what you should always have at least one of with you, or just a leader/ support role in general you won't need to worry about your health because you're, at least in this game i've noticed through my play through as a Rogue, taking out enemies quicker than they can do anything to do you to begin with if you're using your skills as you should and you would know what exactly they do and how they effect combat if you read them. So there's my tip for everyone who bothers to read this monster I guess. Really you can set up your team so you don't have to pause the game and manage everyone all the time. I've been learning visual basic recently and I view tactics as a big if then statement which makes it easier for me at least not that I feel like setting up a few general tactics is that hard to begin with. But even so like I mentioned before the preset ones work out great. I think if people just take their time with the game they'll understand it better. I view DA2 as an entirely different game from Origins and I came into it knowing that I wasn't going to be going anywhere other than Kirkwall wkhich I was fine with. As Adam said the game's highlight really is the conversations you have with the important people in the world and that's somethign that really had me going through the entire game because I was excited to see what happened next and I didn't care if it had an over arching plot or not because I really just cared about my character and my family and it almost brought a tear to my eye when something happened in the deep roads. To anyone who is coming into the game from plaing Origins I'd tell them to not expect a sequel just like Origins. DA2 is a game on its own. Different story and different people and different more exciting overall gameplay. Don't expect another Origins in this one because it's just not, it's another animal. I guess that's all i have to say about DA2 for now. Loved Feedback can't wait till the one this week since i'm writing this on a tuesday and tomorrow I've got an essentials game to go to so hopefully thursday I will be graced by Adam's seemingly never ending wisdom. Hey what's it take to get a job at G4?
I'm 30 hours into Dragon Age 2 and I'm loving every minute of it.
I agree with everything Adam said about DA2, except I very much enjoyed the combat. And although I did really enjoy the combat, I can completely understand how many people would be put-off by it when the game tends to have random difficulty spikes that mandate more tactical gameplay. There should be an even easier difficulty that allows you to play that game as an action adventure the whole way through. I myself enjoy having to occasionally play more tactical, but like Adam said, that view is definitely in the minority.And yeah, the static environemnts throughout the game is a huge downfall. I expected more from a BioWare title regarding the overall story and environments.
I tend to agree with Adam DA folks should have had more info on really who the character was supposed to be. They kind of left us in the dark. but after playing for several hours now I finally get it.
Wow G4, make a new profanity filter! I just typed out an entire post and I cannot find for the life of me any so-called "profanity" in it at all. I even went back and looked for anything that could be remotely implied in a negative way and it's still not expecting it. So good luck and good day, because I officially give up trying.
If the game was not so "streamlined' I would play a good character first and then make my evil run second since I know almost everything about the game and make it my best run >:). Evil FTW....Dragon Age 2 noobish crap FTL.
maybe you guys could make feedback a part of G4 programming. I'm sure I'm not the only one tired of cops, cheaters, and campus pd making up most of the G4 lineup.

It's not like they will read this, but Battlefield 2 only had one expansion, not 3. There was, however, 2 DLC packs. Either way, Battlefield has already "established" itself. It has been a fan favorite for many years on PC. Hopefully the console crowd will catch on too. Just hoping that this will help show people how bad Call of Duty has become over the past few years, how far it has fallen from grace.
While Guild Wars 2 promises dynamics as a way to advance the model of MMO so you tell your own story, I wonder if that concept has an inherent flaw that is destined to make it fail. In the videos, the game is described to have towns and people that will fall and die, these effects being persistent, if not protected and the landscape to be changed depending on if you lose or win. So what if you have a team of losers on a server that can't get the job done? Does that mean that the whole land on that particular server is wiped out and there's nothing left to defend or interact with? Do the NPCs reproduce to replenish those who die from the attacks of your enemy? If they do not, I would think that, no matter how numerous your friendly NPCs are, you will eventually end up with a world without friends.
Nicole isn't right for this show and actually makes it worse by being there. I understand why she was on, because she played a lot of the games you talked about. But she really contributes nothing useful about any of them. Notice for example when she tries to talk about Guild Wars, it sounds like an incoherent regurgitation of the developers talking points. Then Matt steps in and actually explains it briefly and to the point and gives you something to take away.Maybe she is a good writer or something, but Nicole is just not a good talking personality. When I see her name in the credits of feedback I cringe (and watch it anyway for the other people). I hope G4 can soon find someone that can fill 3/4 of Abbie's old shoes. I am not interested in feedback being a total sausage fest any more than the next guy.Ok, thumbs me down now for being mean to the pretty girl.
I totally get what Adam said about sleeping with your companion, except for me the first person I slept with was Isabela. So it wasn't that hard for me to pick my answer after we slept together. She's kind of a slut, and I didn't really expect anything to come out of that night. Poor Meryl on the other hand, I was afraid to break her little heart, and I think I only asked her to move in because I was afraid she'd go off crying.
Varric and Fenris actually have dialogues about Varric's beard, or lack there of.
