The HTC Inspire 4G smartphone comes with a giant 4.3" touch screen, Android 2.2 and an 8 megapixel camera with HD video recording. Chris Hardwick and Candace Bailey find out how inspiring this smartphone can truly be, especially with its $60 price tag with a contract.
What You Need to Know
- This is one of the slimmer phones we've seen with an oversized screen
- It’s a little thinner than the EVO (though the camera kind of sticks out on the side), and a little lighter
- If you've used an EVO or any other HTC phone with Android, you'll know how to use this and it's just as fluid and fast as any other Android phone
- Tapping, scrolling, and swiping is responsive, and of course, you can pinch and zoom
- It's got HTC Sense widgets like news feeds, social media streams, and universal contacts, and it has more of a personalized feel
- We also like how the notification tray has recent apps
- This is one of the fastest Android phones we've used, and it'll tear through the most important apps
- The camera is really good; pictures are detailed and clear in normal light, they look good in low light, and the flash doesn't blow out your subject
- You can also put different effects on pictures like distortion, negative, and vignette, which is something we haven't seen before
- Video also looks good, and you can record in 720p
- AT&T has upgraded most of their network to 4G already, and this phone can take advantage of that, although speeds aren't quite as fast as we want them to be
- In our tests, Sprint's and Verizon's 4G were faster than AT&T’s by about 3 or 4 megabits
- At least it's ready for the next generation of mobile broadband, though
Price
- $60 with a contract on Amazon Wireless

This phone SUX! Dont waste your $$..got mine on 2/17/11 and less than 2 months and you cant send or receive phone calls, it's just dead silence on both ends. Warranty sent me a "refurbished" phone after hours on my wifes phone and repeated troubleshooting steps. Two days after I get the refurbished phone...it now only works on "speaker phone"...the battery life really SUX...not to mention that the service and reception aint worth a damn either..needless to say..I am goin to get a different phone and it damn sure aint gonna be HTC.

gadget pron is the best segment on aots.
the inspire is cool, was just playing with it at the mall. it IS kinda thick though (when compared to the iphone4), but everything on it is pretty slick. it isnt the most attractive phone though...why is it that apple seems to be the only company that knows how to make gorgeous products?
looking forward to the atrix review

I love Gadget Pr0n, though it would be better if Kevin and Chris hosted it all the time (or Alison+Kevin, Alison+Chris). Or maybe a threesome hosting ?
SpyHunter07
Chris = a more enjoyable Gadget Pr0n EVERY TIME. He's the best.

Is it just me or does Candace seem to have a better chemistry with Chris Hardwick than she does with Kevin? You can't see it as much in this segment, but I've noticed it before when Hardwick has been on.
