Yeah when I saw this on Facebook I thought, 'They are making a movie full of bugs?' (kidding).

Anyway the Zombie Genre is in desperate need of salvation. The original slow walking zombies of Night of the Living Dead were very scary and frighting because you could really only 'stop' them with a bullet to the head. They moved slow, but they were moving. The entire psychological effects of the thought/actions on the screen are enough to scare you.

The problem is that apparently no body thinks Zombies are enough to scare people and they've been adding 'super' abilities to the dead. In the recent adaption of Day of The Dead (2008) we have zombies who jump from the floor to a vent in a single leap, a zombie that has super strength and can grab people from the rafters of a tunnel and kill them silently (I think maybe even he ate most of the guy too or something) and so people are losing their ability to create genuinely frightening movies involving story and emotion. Honestly the same problems exist with slasher films that rely 100 percent on gore, super abilities and cheap scares especially the ones involving music lulls with a sudden loud noise from a instrument or soundfx to startle viewers not because of what they are feeling but because when a loud obtrusive noise hits your body responds in quick heightened alertness and 'fear'.

Now I feel 28 Days Later with their Infection Zombies who can run at fast speeds (fast as in how a human runs, not that they run from one edge of town to the next in 2 minutes) were able to pull off a genuinely frightful experience because it's all more realistic and when audiences can easily 'suspend the notion of reality' and slip into a storyline you can make them feel it more.

28 Weeks Later was a horrible horrible movie though because the writing and plot were completely stupid and the entire time you just wanted the two kids who put everyone in danger to die.

'The Crazies' remake starting the awesome Timothy Olyphant is another current 'zombie' movie that I feel does a very good job at getting an emotional response from you based on story and this suspension of the real world and the acceptable of the 'possibility' of it.

It's just hard for me to suspend my connection with reality sometimes and as such games like Gears of War, Resident Evil, Silent Hill and movies with giant monsters like Super 8, Cloverfield (once you find out it's not just one thing but also a bunch of tiny human bat things too), That movie about the monster aliens in L.A. and others just don't get me.

Maybe I'm a game/movie snob but the more 'real' something could be the more I can identify with it. Resident Evil is a good movie to me until the Necromasis shows up. Oh and all the movies are stupid once Milla is a super woman who can do everything.

AND ANOTHER THING! In Resident Evil Apocalypse Jill is wearing the Blue Top and short shorts (which I understand is what was in the video game) but if you are fighting zombies who can infect you with bites/body fluids/scratches then why would you be nearly naked knowing you'll get close quarters with them?... A lot of Zombie movies have the cliche of women not wearing much clothing and it doesn't make sense.

Anyway me and my sister are doing a 'Zombie' film that we hope to finish in a few years maybe, hopefully it does well and avoids the horrible cliches of the Zombie Genre.

Such a soul crushing trailer. I don't know what this means for gameplay but it sure shows how good these guys can be storywise.

Gotta say, I really like the trailer, and the whole "8 year old child murder" thing is seriously invalid. She was a zombie when she was tossed out of the window, Her parents died trying to SAVE her not murder her. The trailer was made like this to show how futile it was for the family not to showcase "child murder" it wasn't meant to shock it was made to show us how fragile we are in these situations, seriously people need to get the giant stick they have shoved up their asses out before they watch a trailer like this.

Can someone tell me more on that backing song, can almost swear it's an instrumental adaptation of The Cure's Pictures of You. Sounds strikingly like the Angie Hart cover minus vocals.

That was probably the most artistic trailer I've seen for a Zombie game. I've been pitching the idea of an open-world, RPG-style zombie game to my friends for a while but I don't really think it would work. I can only fight so many zombies before I get bored with them, to be honest. It's why I never finished Dead Rising.

But hey, here's to hoping this game will be different. I'd love for someone to revitalize my love of blowing away the undead.

There wasn't a damn thing graphic about the girl dying. The fat guy and bell boy yea (sure why not?), but the girl falling out the window? No.

what the hell is wrong with some of you people? Several of the comments disagree with this, whatever..... one though talks as if there could be criminal charges for the depiction of killing a child, lmao. Dude have you not seen the new show The Walking Dead? The opening scene shows an 8 year old girl getting shot in the head, (brain matter and all) and this is on public telivision.

Ok what i think about the 8 year old dying is that if zombies did exist and it recently started kids would be dying every where so think it adds to the story and makes it some what more realistic

That was an unbelievably awesome trailer... best I have seen in a long time, and I'm including including movie trailers. And the idea of an open-world/ RPG zombie apocalypse game sounds incredible. CANT WAIT!!
