I agree about defending video games. To incinuate that Glenn beck has anything to do with the Fox news bit about Bulletstorm is rediculous.I watch Glenn everyday and have never even heard him mention games period. The cable Fox news is vastly different from the network news.In other words...it actually makes sense.I have been playing games for 28 years and I believe it is possible to be conservative and still enjoy games like Dead Space 2 which I am enjoying my third playthrough.Of course I don't live in California which would make this post self-explanitory.It is actually posible to be a patriot for my country and to enjoy video games.Who knew?

This has been hashed out so much, for so long, that this debate isn't even worth talking about anymore. So, ok, some idiot wanted to get they're 15 minutes of fame on Fox News because they know that the gaming industry will talk about it in defense, but it's not necessary because there is no real threat anymore! Everyone knows, by now, that gaming won't cause mental illness, or some horrible sex act. We got it!

So, please, in the future, let's talk about something insightful that will stimulate thought. Take, for instance, where is the gaming industry going and is the hobby getting too expensive? Not only does these questions pertain to what is currently happening within the industry now, but it also invokes thought. Yeah, let's stick to that please.

I agree with what you say, but you should know, if you believe both some liberal and some conservative views, then you are more likely categorized as a moderate, which is what I am.

The way the media portrays it most of the population is either an extreme liberal or extreme conservative, which is incorrect, but it's better for ratings. Who'd watch/read news about people being reasonable/normal? It pulls in more ratings to show the extremest being crazy.

And if for anyone who's ever listen to feedback, or watch G4, it's pretty clear most of the G4 staff favors Xbox 360 if Xbox 360 is a choice (to be fair here, most home console owners have a Xbox over the PS3, but that doesn't really excuse G4 from 100% of the time presenting every single game as if it was only for the 360 and ignoring it's existence on other systems), and are very much hard line liberals. At least, that's what they preach. It's a career ender for most people in show business or the media to come out as conservatives, as there are in fact more people who benefit from the liberal's preferred monetary system.

Ok, first off Adam lets get one thing out of the way here. We all know that you are a big liberal and when it comes to the other side you love to be on the attack. As most liberals enjoy doing. I myself am a libertarian and agree with some of the left and some of the right. I dont need to pick one side only as you seem to do, kinda like your favortism for the xbox! I love ya man, but comon youre smarter than this. Some liberal blogger takes what a person said out of context, with one motive only and you dont even question it? People like yourself, just go on by what they hear and want to believe. Everyone here seems to bash on FOX and dont even watch it! Its incredible and amazing. This quack of a woman that FOX had on questioning, were not agreeing with her. They were letting her speak her mind, while all the liberal loons once again started pointing the finger and not understanding what was going on here. FOX is suprisingly one of the only few channels, that will actually put both sides of opinions on. Where as a network like MSNBC will only ever have people that agree with them on. Mainly liberal no name bloggers that just bitch, attack, lie and accuse to try and make themselves look good! I know because i watch them ALL! I make my own judgement from a professional standpoint. Just like with Mass Effect, they have someone who doesnt agree with the game and then someone that doesnt find anything wrong with it. Both sides, Adam! Its called freedom of speech and expression! Something most libs these days wanna see gone! If you dont agree with the liberals, then you must be a FOX watching racist! Right, isnt that the way it goes? Thats a whole other story though. Fact is, they let a foolish so called Dr. on there to express her views on a game thats not even out yet, and it spread like wildfire. Now, its all the fault of FOX. They hate games, they are crying rape, blah blah! Get it together Sessler and research the facts first before you make yourself look irresponsible and foolish. FOX in my opinion has been extremely fair these days, having both sides of the fence speak their minds. Thats they way it should be! I myself will be purchasing Bulletstorm and enjoyed the demo, so why get all heated and go on the attack just because of what some no name Dr. had to say? You should probably watch a bit of FOX from time to time, might help you be a bit more balanced. My whole point here is Adam, you cant just believe everything you hear without getting the facts straight first. I myself heard what was said and how it was said. It had nothing to even do with FOX! They werent responsible and cannot speak for that one womans opinion. They always have liberals and conservatives on, alot of time together! Something MSNBC stays away from! Should listen to both sides and opposing opinions, it will help you be a little bit more knowledgable in life. This woman that attacked the game is a liberal! They are the ones these days that want to censor everything. Get it right Adam, comon! Im not choosing sides here Adam, but i cant stand when the left gets things purposely wrong to try and benefit themselves. Its not right and makes you no better than her. The FCC and other big liberal outfits like them are no different. They wanna monitor and censor everything. I dont see you complaining about them ever. Hmm, wonder why. Maybe because they are liberal?

What's wrong with G4 comments? They randomly don't post properly, and sometimes do post, but have a 5+ minute delay.

Fox news spouts a lot of crap, but to be fair, as they also have a monopoly on providing 100% conservative biased news, as almost every other news outlets provides 100% liberal biased news, and thus, have to fight for attention from liberals who want liberal biased news, while Fox doesn't have to worry about that.

As other have said, as there are more liberals then conservatives (although, I think the media almost always ignores the moderates), anyone in the show business automatically says they are liberals, because it's good for popularity.

Fox loves spouting crap. However to be fair, while Fox's reports news from a 100% conservative standpoint, most other news networks and news in general takes a 100% liberal standpoint, so Fox has a monopoly in providing news for people who want conservative biased news, while other news outlets fights for the attention of liberals, as mostly liberal oriented news providers. So from a monetary standpoint, Fox succeeding because they have no competition.

I am glad you took this position Adam. Stupid people say stupid things every day, but that does not mean they are right. I am disppointed on the worried gamers who contacted Adam asking him to do something about this minor issue. Relax, we have not done anything wrong. Fox "News" likes to rip just about everyone out there.

Out of curiosity I wonder if any of the G4 staff leans to the right or are repbulicans?

Could working at G4 be similar to Hollywood....once they find out your conservative then your career goes down the drain and you are blacklisted.

Just because we watch or play violent or sexual media does not mean we go out and do those things. Be responsible parents/adults. Certain games/movies etc are meant for certain ages. And oh yes parents teach your children something good at home once in awhile. Fox News is a rant station and bring up good points and bad points what you do with it is the American way.

Not defending Fox News here, but...

The actual article did not state that playing Bulletstorm could potentially make you a rapist.

The point raised in reference to Bulletstorm was that the violent acts available to the player and the associated names attached to them could create the illusion that acting / talking to someone in the real world in such terms is permissible.

The article then raised the issue that sexual images or sexual suggestion in games may also lead players to believe behaving in such a manner is acceptable. This could, therefore, make rape a potential hazard.

Whilst these issues are entirely up for speculation, and I do not concur with them, the fact remains that at no point did the report explicitly state that Bulletstorm leads to rape. It seems as though the other news broadcasters (and especially the video game sites) have lead with this paraphrased statement, thus creating a hubbub that really shouldn't exist.

I seriously recommend to all people reading these posts to actually hunt down the original report and ascertain for themselves what was actually stated within it. As it stands, this seems to be video game sites creating a hubbub to generate interest and, quite possibly, hits on their sites. This is no better journalism than the rubbish Fox has, on previous occasions, come up with.

Thank you Mr. Sessler for a succinct response. I could rant on FOX news for days on end, as having done so many times over the years. But frankly, I'm relieved that your cool, measured response made its point without working me into a tiring frenzy. Good show.

the problem is news needs a scapegoat/ villain. since comics cant do that anymore they have to go after something new that older people will be afraid of.
