Kevin: Dead Space was very similar to System Shock 2(released in 1999), another survival horror FPS game featuring necromorphs in space. Think BioShock in space with necromorphs and without the plasmids. I highly suggest to anyone that likes Dead Space or BioShock to play System Shock 2. The game is very dated but there are a few mods that came out 4-5 years ago that updated the game a bit, Rebirth mod being the main one.
It's one of the best games of all time, and it still surprises me when I don't hear it mentioned when you guys talk about Dead Space. Someone on staff has to have played it, the game was designed by Ken Levine and developed by Irrational Games.
