LG 50PJ350 50" Plasma TV Review

LG's 50PJ350 50" plasma television is both thin and sleek with a multitude of features like Picture Wizard to help enhance the screen settings, an intelligent light sensor for screen brightness and more. Find out if this plasma TV is worth the $600 price tag.

What You Need To Know

  • The LG 50" Plasma TV has most of the inputs on the back, but there are a few on the side so you can wall mount this easily.
  • The 50PJ350 is pretty thin and measures only 2.2".
  • The screen is also glossy so you'll see reflections.
  • The plasma TV offers a few cool features to help optimize your TV viewing experience, like Picture Wizard, which shows you how to adjust brightness, contrast, tint and other settings for the best possible image quality.
  • The Intelligent Light Sensor changes the screen brightness and color according to how light or dark the room is. We noticed that this caused the screen to flicker, so we turned it off.
  • The LG picture quality was pretty impressive: colors were warmer and more accurate than the Samsung 50" TV and there was very little graininess.
  • We did notice that the LG TV did show digital artifacting when we turned up the brightness and contrast.
  • The 50PJ350 also has a faster refresh rate to get rid of motion blur, which worked pretty well.
  • We felt the plasma TV handled fast moving action scenes better than the Samsung 50" TV.
