Like I said the core ideas is there, but the basics of what made the original and also the sequel so good on the 360 are the connections. the way they just said wrex was overreacted and other things makes the characters look like hollow shells. it doesnt bring you close to the game on a personal level like the 360 version. Yes, the ps3 gets all the bonus content and also get to see the game with better graphics and other things, but for me, i dont care for all that, i want a good solid narrative especially if its from an established franchise that connects to the original.

You killed the Rachni Queen?!!! Why?! You monster!!
Imagine how badass it's going to be in ME3 when all hope seems lost and BAM! out of no where a fleet of Rachni ships drop in to save your ass at the last second. ^^

As only playing the first Mass Effect on my old roommate's 360 and not owning it myself, I felt like the comic did a decent job of addressing the major plat points that affect the first and even though it doesn't address the entire scope of the awesomeness from Mass Effect 1 it does the job of allowing you to choose the outcome of those situations. Without those choices I feel like a big part of Mass Effect 2 would be missing...

I keep hearing the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 being referred to as the definitive console version of the game but for me that title goes to the 360 version for the sheer fact of being able to play the first game in the series and get those emotional connections and choices that can be carried over exactly as you played it into the second and third games. The comic is cool but while it does let you make the decisions from ME1, its not a very good substitute. For example, the decision to kill or calm down Rex wasn t that cut and dry as it is represented, you could only calm him down if your paragon or renegade was high enough or you did his special side quest before hand. Not actually playing the first game also eliminates the emotional connection with characters and events in the first game. But i understand that Bioware did the best they could with the situation and this is still better than no choices from ME1 at all. I just hope that somehow Microsoft finds that heart to let ME1 be released on the PS3 (fat chance though lol)

doesn't really do the first game justice. I suggest that PS3 owners get ME1 for the PC. great game, and then atleast you get a better intro than this 15 minute comic.

How do u get the comic anyway?

Do the choices in the comic actually reflect in ME2?
HAMMERCLAW
Pretty lame, but then what else could they do?

I think I will just stiick to the 360 version. Honestly, this game doesnt fulfill the personal feeling you got when you play the first game therefore the connection you feel with ME2 isnt there. Also, even though the core choices are there, the smaller decisions arent either. So the things you said and did with the other characters, crew and not, isnt to be found. I know the PS3 version has its perks but the biggest perk to the original is the personal connection you had with commander Shepard and his or her crew.

Doesn't do ME 1 justice at all but serves it's purpose I guess. You really don't see the true awesomeness of Joker, Wrex and Garrus, I feel like people are going to kill Wrex for no reason. They also get rid of Feros.

This comic is pretty amazing, considering BioWare could have done absolutely nothing. I would definitely recommend playing ME1 if you have the means to though. Just remember that things get better.

I think that the artwork is only OK (anyone else notice the dead krogan & turian at the beacon, the good ship 'NDY', Wrex's super flat face, the interior of the Normandy being the SR2 not the SR1, etc.), I don't get why they excluded Feros, and how come every one of the comic vids I find make the same dumb ass choices? Why kill Wrex? Why choose Udina? Why not sleep with Kaidan?
kampfer_sama
Female Shepard, eh?
Good choice.

The comic is pretty cool, art style is beautiful and the major choices that effect you in ME2 from ME1 you actually get to make via the comic. Does it make up for not having ME? Well not really but at least it allows you to choose your characters back story and fill you in on the story as well.
