Final fantasy 13 was good and all but people are WAAAAAY to into the characters i mean when rumors started cropping up for kingdom hearts 3 the next thing you know we start seeing lightning in the fan made trailers, sure the characters are ones that you can get attached to very easily but seriously guys, oh what the hell am i saying? YEAH!!!! 13 2!!!! BOUT FREAKING TIME I KNEW SOMETHING LIKE THIS WAS ON ITS WAY!!!! and one minor thing, what the heck happened to final fantasy 13 verses? i mean i would love to see the story behind mister teleporting-blade master.

If this is another FFX-2 it will end up failing. I hope Square Enix learned enough the first time not to repeat the same mistake. FFXIII was a great game but they should be focus on FFXV.

eh, I thought it looked good. I'll probably get it

There are starving children in every nation and Square Enix are creating into an over-expensive pile of crap sequel to an over-expensive pile of crap.

no fan-service game, give me a true sequel with live-action fighting since it seems Lightning will be the sole returning character, a hack n slash would be fun, i think her look was fine before though.....fan service

I'm actually looking forward to this, granted the first game was a little to linear for most people's tastes, I enjoyed XIII as an entire package. I'm just wondering though, XIII was set with a very modern feel, so what's with the plate armor and goos feathers?
As a side note: will we ever see FF Versus XIII? or is that going to sit by the wayside until after this is released?

The first Final Fantasy 13 game was beautifully done when it came to graphics and characters and I can tell that this "sequel" to the game will like that as well.
But, the first Final Fantasy's plot was hard to follow and building the characters levels and giving them the neccersary abilities to complete even a single mission was so tedious to the point that I was reduced to playing hours in the night to build up each character.
This next installment of the game won't dissapoint in graphics and characters but I can bet that so many Final Fantasy die hards will not want this game to be anything like Final Fantasy X-2. One already exisits and we don't need another one made where it will be played then rejected to a near by GameStop store as it's traded in or sold because it was like playing dress up.
I can trust that the creators of the legend franchise that made the Final Fantasy series know what they are doing but should listen to the people and fans that they are trying to entertain to make the plot and the game setting more appealing to the buyers eye.
On a personal note, if this does turn out to be just another Final Fantasy X-2 I will be dissapointed.

There better not be anymore Adamantoises in this game.
Oh by the way, I'm not sure if linking to other sites is allowed. But if anyone wants to see the full lineup of upcoming FF releases. Here's a link:

That armor Lightning is wearing seems a bit...uncharacteristic. I know that she wore some pretty short shorts in the first game, but they weren't obscenely short...her uniform seemed practical while also meeting the Stylistic Japanese Character Design Standard. Now it looks like they threw the practical part out the window (strange, considering it actually features some metallic bits now).
I'm wholly expecting an extremely goofy shift in tone here, much like X-2. I hope I'm wrong, because Lightning was a pretty cool character (and she was voiced by Ali "Liara T'Soni" Hillis in the english version, to boot!)

I LOVED FINAL FANTASY 13, and im a huge fan of the series. I am beyond excited for this game, but if this is going to be a successful sequel, THE BATTLE STYLE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. WE NEED SOMETHING NEW. and with this, i am off.

Wow, she's missing some armor...

Meh, I liked 13. It felt like a brand new start and that's fitting. In fact my only complaint is that Square refuses to do PC/PS3 and instead decided to go 360/PS3. Now, going fowards, I hope they put in a lot more story while opening up the gameplay. Everything else was perfect or as good as it could be.

Lightning looks like she belongs in a 300 movie
or Soul Caliber
oh crap j/k Nintendo don't do it!

I certainly enjoyed 13...but I have to side with a lot of people here in saying that "I hope it's not another 12-2".

I gotta have it!!

It took me 122 hours to really "get into" FF XIII but once I did I fell pretty hard. I did think the storyline should have given Fang and Vanille their proper due, considering they ended up being such a HUGE part of the game. Instead they spent most of the time focusing on Snow, Serah and Hope's respective bs and even Sazh's bs, when it really didn't mean much in the long run, imo. Even Lightening, the supposed protagonist, seemed to get less face time than they did. And then you have Fang and Vanille who are given murky backgrounds at best and they end up tying the ENTIRE thing together. The rest of the characters stories just sort of come back together in the end because they had to. I think Fang especially go the raw end of the deal, considering all of her contributions and the fact there couldn't have been a game without her. If nothing else, I'm excited for FF XIII-2 to at least ATTEMPT to give Lightening a proper story, since XIII did her no justice at all. I will miss Fang though. I hope they'll make it up to her one day too.
I will also say I think they're putting it out too quickly, which was exactly what happened with X-2. People seem to want a "happy ending" and when the games proper don't "deliver" they try to "correct" it by throwing a game together, I think. Sequels CAN be good, but they must be given the same attention as the games/movies/whatever they've spawned from. I personally like things grittier, but that's another story.
