Why do you need to get a new DS i still have the DS fat it works fine hasnt failed me and it plays all the full games you can play on your DSIXL's and honestly these opinions are a little saddening almost stupid in some of the reasonings

I say yes. The last time I upgraded to a new handheld was in 2004 with the original DS (which is better than the DS Lite and DSi). Also, I have never bought crappy Apple products like the iPod and the iPhone so the 3DS will be very good for me. And I can't wait for games like Paper Mario 4 and Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D.

I think Nintendo realized they undercharged for the Wii. The shortage for the Wii was unlike any other in gaming history. It was 2 years before you started to see Wiis regularly in stores. I think they are trying to be more aggressive with their price point here, and if it doesn;t sell then they will drop the price to 199.99, but this thing is going to sell like mad. So I dont see a price cut for some time.

I think the price is to high for a hand held unit. The Wii cost 250.00 when it came out.. Your saying the 3DS is worth the same price of admission as the wii? Doubful

Regardless of price, for the die hard Nintendo fan, the Nostalgic Nintendo Gamer looking to play older Nintendo titles on a handled in 3D and the Early Adopter, this is a moot point. It's not a question of if, but when they'll be buying it. I'd wager it's an "as soon as possible" purchase for these kinds of gamers.

The avg. parent whose child already has a DS probably isn't going to rush out and drop $250+ for just a new handheld, but you never know.

Me? I've already got enough to play on my iPhone without lugging around another small device.

It's going to be funny when all of them have one on the 3DS feedback that g4tv gave them and they will all be praising it

Also I've said it before but as a college student unless I play locally with my friends, I really don't have time for a stationary console but a portable handheld with console level features and games, I could find time for between work/school/my most time consumer, girlfriend

People make the price comparisons of the 3DS to the current consoles. Don't forget, people, the PS3 used to cost more than 500 bucks. The current consoles have been out long enough to have price drops. Not to mention the PSP originally started off at 250. Remember, price is always subjective to the age of the console.

It's right at the ceiling of my price range for it. I trust Nintendo. There innovations and instincts have been spot on for over 25 years.

I was sad that Steve and Kevin were dumping on it because I value their opinions. I figured Nikole would crap on it. Maybe we'll throw a MS sticker on one for her. Then she would get all hot for it.

For me, it is way too expensive. You can get an Xbox 360 for $200, and for $50 more you can get the PS3. Why would I want to spend that much money on a handheld? For the 3D? You are fooling yourself if you think the 3D is going to impress you for more than a day. After that, you will want to turn it off to conserve battery life and likely will never turn it back on again. Then all you will have is a PSP with a touch screen.

Drop the price, then come take to me Nintendo.

Not that I am really impressed with the 3DS but you guys must carry a iphone or droid with you at all times. That thing is worth much more than $250, they just make you think its cheaper with contracts.

I'd say yes. My reasons are my own. No one is going to convince me otherwise.
