I'm going to hold out until the next version of it comes out.

I'm never buying a Nintendo product at launch again.

I'd say wait....bide your time well then wait for the next iteration. Cause chances are they've already have the specs for the improved 3ds. I'm not gonna end up buying a piece of equipment again and then see another better looking one be released. Not this time Nintendo. I'm saving my money for greater things at the moment.

I really want to get one but the money just isn't there right now. Sure 3D is awesome & playing all the re-imagined old school games would be great but I just need to hold off until the holiday season possibly. I can't go spend 250 bucks just like that.

"I don't care about the 3DS because I'm not a little girl." ugh... you're the girly one for avoiding innovation, old school freak.

I'm getting a 3DS no matter how many jerks trash-talk it.

Personally I am going to wait till I see it in action before I make a decision. If the 3d adds to the experience and makes me fell like it's not a gimmicky add on I might buy it and then finally have something from the DS series. The Price isn't bad (its the same price as I bought my PSP a few years ago) although I do fell that it could be cheaper (although not much when I look at the specs) I understand they need to squeeze a profit from consoles as majority are actually costing money.

When you get your hands on a 3DS, you will understand why it is $250. To me, $250 for a No-Glasses 3D machine that will play 3D movies, DS games (I do not own a DS), past Nintendo games through eStore (hopefully in 3D) would be worth the price alone. However adding in 3DS games which are going to be unstoppable (i'm looking at Ocarina of Time 3D, Starfox 64 3D, and Mario Kart 3D), and I feel like it would be a steal at $250 dollars.

I'm planing on getting it. Why with all the talk of 3D movies (i.e. How to Train your Dragon, Tangled, and more) and possibly 3DTV networks jumping on board in the future it would be great to have with me. Anyways we pay hundreds of dollars on phones and we miss use them (drop in general, possibly throw, or more) and you don't care then so why do that with a 3DS? In general it's basically the same. I even imagine that Skype might be on the 3DS. And as a reminder the PSP came out at $250, which was $50 more than the PS2 at the time (If I remember right.) Plus there is no need of hundreds of FC (Friend codes) just the one.

you know what excites me most about the 3ds? its the fact that nintendo is bringing 3d to a handheld.....
If they are doing that for handhelds, imagine what they are going to do with their next console!!!
in my opinion, nintendo is to consoles what apple is to computing

Whats wrong with $249 it's a brand new DS not the one's you find used at a gamestop or near a trash can.

Considering most people (excluding myself) thought it was going to be $300, this is good news.

for the time being this is a great price but 2-3 years from now this will be a bad price point

I definitely think its worth it.
It comes with a charger and a 2gb SD card
And there are a ton of great games coming out for it
Definitely excited about the remakes they're doing.

Well, given all the money I've saved NOT buying the GBA, GBASP, GBM, DS, DSlite, DSi, or DSiXL, maybe it's time I finally upgrade from my Game Boy Color....

I will be getting one. There is nothing like the 3DS out now, it's in its own class. So I would advise not comparing it to other systems like the PSP or the Wii because you're comparing oranges to mangos.

They're all game consoles, but their insides are different.

I will wait for more games I want on it. I really can't buy it yet anyways. I might wait for a price drop and new model. I would get a ds lite over the ds phat, which I did. I did because ds phat is too much of a pain.
