Agree some what.
Good thing I spent the 70 bucks I stole from a passed out stoner on RDR and FO3
Yeah this boiled down to the name thing where if Team Ninja didn't call this Metroid it probably would have satisfied gamers. I classify this next to C&C 4 which was a decent game yet tried to keep the Command & Conquer name. Like this game the design was drastically different and felt insulting to long time fans. I really hope SSX Deadly Descent doesn't fall into this category later this year (or whenever it's released).
i'm dissapointed too...! making the game 2 out of 5. i admit is not like the other metroids games but the graphics are brutal, and samus has voice acting for the first time!
like I said I've lost respect for Xplay's reviews and Morgan Webb, seriously they didn't even review this game, other gaming websites like IGN gave it a nice review and looked like they actually played the game and not like Xplay which all they did was look at how slutty Samus looked (which for me is a plus hehe) and I acutally liked the fact that Nintendo gave Samus a voice and gave the game a cool storyline, so in my opinion this was one of the coolest Metroid game ever. (besides Super Metroid because everyone knows thats the best one)
I hate Metroid: Other M so much, ruined Samus forever.
Morgan (and probably Adam) didn't even review the game. Abbie Heppes did.And it didn't have control or character headaches for pretty much anyone who played this game properly -- anyone who knows ANYTHING about Samus knows a lot of her character is left up to YOUR imagination. It is OBVIOUS that giving her a role like this one would naturally disappoint a lot of people, therefore, ACCOUNT for that.It is like the phenomenon of simultaneity in special relativity: if two events A and B, occur at the SAME time in different spatial locations according to an observer in a *stationary* reference frame S, then would they really occur simultaneously once you account for the delay of the speed of light to reach the observer's eyes and relay information (that is, if you are closer to one event, obviously you see that one first, and the effect is pronounced depending upon the separation distances of everything involved)? The answer is NO: when studying relativity in this manner, you are assumed to understand that simultaneity refers to events happening at their SOURCE -- not by whether an observer sees them at once. And the controls? Pretty brilliant. Except for the pixel-hunting and sometimes unnecessary missile firing in boss fights. The real gripe of the game is the item sequencing, which ties in with the story. In particular (and only these examples), Samus could've been using the Varia, Gravity, Space Jump (not necessarily scew attack) and Seeker Missiles (five-missile per shot) long before she decided to forgo Adam's authorization (the Varia suit itself was stupid: Adam should've authorized it when he ordered her to the lava sector). Obviously they were concerned about sensible story nuances.Dialogue is almost always gonna suck, but, like movie critics, you can't really detract from the score and naysay a game with a heavily-emphasized dialogue basis. Remember that movies and games are more than just what the script writers and story sequence editors do!!
As a Metroid fan I was extremly dissatisfied with this game. How can Sakamoto create this and call it a Metroid game? One of the biggest dissapointments in gaming I can remember.
Here is to all the crazy Nintendo fans out there. If a game isn't good, no amount of hype will change that. You can't have it both ways, if you hate it when someone doesn't like what you like then maybe you need to look in the mirror and then think about what is wrong with what you see. If you like something that is fine, don't get mad when other people don't always share your opinion. Not everyone likes horrible anime cliches.
Just admit you guys don't want reviews, you want them to say what you want to here. if you think the game is great, then buy it - there is no reason for you to come here unless you need advice on a video-game purchase.
G4 DOES IT AGAIN !!!!Golden Mullet My A**!!!!! Metriod Other M was one of the best games of 2010 and you guys know it.
I agree! Especially with the fact that the Xbox fails so much and the fact that you are all just haters toward Nintendo!
This Review Of Metroid Other M Deserves A Golden Mullet Alone For Unfair Biased View with sexest Reviewer!!!Metroid Other M Was Not As Good as Super Metroid Or Metroid Prime BUT I Still Think Is One Of The Best Games Of 2010!!!!G4 you Are Just Treating Nintendo Fans Like Me LIKE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS!!!!I Have A PS3 BUT I REFUSE TO BUY A XBOX 360 BECAUSE of its Horrible Hardware Failure Rate, Some GAmes Losing System Exclusives Like Bioshock And Mass Effect 2 , And Online service That requires A $59.99 a Year for online gameplay!!!!XBOX 360 SUX!!!!!!Long Live Wii!!!!!!!!!Long Live PS3!!!!!!Also FALLOUT 3 Should Had Won XPLAY Game Of THE YEAR 2008 AND NOT FABLE 2!!!!!!THAT GAME SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!

what would u expect from team nija
You people are idiots! Metroid: Other M was a great game, it was one of the most anticipated titles of 2010, the storyline is epic and is supposed to be part of Samus's backstory, Samus actually has feelings in this game because in all of the other Metroid games there is nobody else she can actually care about and even the most epic bounty hunter can have a love interest sooner or later and he dies anyway so that's why she's so heartless in future titles! Therefore, shutup.
Aw, couldn't you give Metroid: Other M a pass, Morgan? Crackdown 2 had some serious flaws but you gave it a pass.
Wow! What a disappointed game by Morgan Webb's argument!
