Assuming games planned for next year are released as planned it will be interesting game of year choices like Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3, and possibly Agent. Agent could also come out in 2012 which would be interesting since it would face Bioshock Infinity.

i have a question i don't know if this where i should post it so if this is not the right place could someone point me in the right direction. heres the question, with story driven titles such as mass effect, heavy rain, or fallout, that in the end have reflections on human behavior like fallouts idea of war will go on as long as the human race does, can we consider the overlying story in some video games literature much like how we now consider some movies today to be literature due to their composition and message?
if that is to long feel free to shorten if you are going to respond to it.

I feel the way you guys do, I have major sequel fatigue it will def be nice when next year comes around.
I'm also really curious and excited to see what Bungie and Activision are workin on too.

I know you are trying to reflect on the year but are you guys really not gonna talk about all the new trailers that came out at the VGA's? I mean there is a lot of good new stuff there. Im way excited for Resistance 3! And speaking of one and two year development cycles, don't forget that Insomniac has switched to 3 year cycles to ensure quality for all their games. I know im a bit of a Resistance fanboy but I wanna hear more insomniac news!

i love how the player drop off for black ops doesnt get mentioned at all the first week there were millions of people playing at anytime now it barely goes over 800,000

I agree, spartan123563. I figured surely this week someone on Feedback would say SOMETHING about Elder Scrolls 5. When they come back the first of the year I'm sure they'll start talking about it. Besides, look at it this way, we KNOW this time next year when they're "looking back at 2011" they'll MOST CERTAINLY be mentioning Skyrim. ;)

I got a Wii Friday, a refurbished one though, comes with a year warranty, which surprised me. Normally, electronic devices that are used/refurbished only come with a 1 month warranty. Anyway, I'm loving it, already have a Cisco's Linksys router to get on Xbox Live so I tried to add the Wii and it worked fine, took less than 5 min to add it. I haven't played a Mario game since Mario 64, which was like 14 years ago, so I picked up Mario Galaxy, found 1 copy left of the Super Mario All Stars LE at a Gamestop also. Been DL'ing some virtual arcade games also, Super Mario World, which forced me to go out today and get the Classic controller, because it's difficult to play with the Gamecube controller.
Going to D-Load A Link to the Past, been dying to play that for a little while. I have the game for the SNES, but I don't have a SNES anymore. Someone borrowed it a long time ago, then moved w/o notice, and I never got it back.
Anyway, you guys and gals have a Merry Christmas, get some relaxation.

I totally agree. Im trying to platinum acbrotherhood the day b4 battlefield vietnam comes out while i have need for speed racing to my door and medal of honor kicking it down... My dad asked me what game i wanted for xmas, I literally said oh shoot

My sister wanted a Gameboy Color and she got...
A broken computer. I think that was the year we got the Go-Kart that stopped working a week later.
I'm sad for the Wii. Nintendo needs a PS360 esque console that can also have motion control. But i think they used the money from the Wii on the 3DS. I know they didn't spend it on their games.
I expect a Kinect for Christmas. It's a good investment. I don't know when i'll get Move.
I'm going to pick up things that i think i should play. I'm getting Prototype because i love those types of games. Not eating people, running up buildings and around the sandbox , games. Like Crackdown. Also, i need to get Saint's Row, because that's fun, and for some reason i got in to the story. I've been playing Two Worlds and have enjoyed myself doing so.
Long post is... well, medium anyway. Happy holidays G4, see you next year.

you guys were close on the 3ds discussion, but kids eyes are fully developed at the age of 5 age 6 is the latest possible for basally all children so nintendo being nintendo said age 7 as i think a way to get out of any legal troubles. plus this thing will sell like 95% off gold, one day only. most parents under stand the term next gen people. kids love 3D, that's clear, kids love DS that's clear. if you tell parents that they don't have to buy a $2000 TV just so they kids can watch 3D movie plus it's all download-able so there is no worry of kids losing movies, plus it's just a much better DS. this thing will be SOA(sold on arrival).
