X-Play presents the Best of 2010 Award for Best Shooter. The nominees are - Battlefield: Bad Company 2, BioShock 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Halo: Reach, and Medal of Honor.

Seriously what the HECK! black ops was great at first in my opinion but became dull and boring as any COD. Halo Reach has the most competetive matchmaking next to BC:2 but is so fun and addicting to most people that like the halo series. Halo 3 won 2009 game of the year. Halo Reach seems to have failed in achieving shooter.

Black Ops is in my opinion the best shooter of all time, entirely because of its single player. I honestly don't think a halo game should even have been a nominee for best shooter of 2010. All the games are the same, the weapons suck ass, and the multiplayer is worse than medal of honor. I think there is no point putting halo games as nominees for best shooter or best game awards because a Call of Duty game or Battlefield game will always win.

Should've been Reach. Although the destructible environment is a great aspect of BC2 i just think the aiming in it is a little sluggish and black ops is just another treyarch fail. Spend more money bribing G4 why dont ya treyarch?

I have BC2. It's a good game, however I still think that Black Ops is much better. I wouldn't call myself a fan boy, I just happen to like COD Black Ops a lot more than Bad Company.

Black ops with a balanced multiplayer, you have to be joking! Matchmaking is the worst I have ever seen and spawns are still an issue. There's Ghost, the 74u, and there is also the problem of the snipers being almost useless. Even the framerate is horrible at points in multiplayer. the vote should have gone to BC2.

I normally side with G4 over other sites when it comes to their game rankings but I do not think Blops deserved best shooter. It's by no means a bad game, but at the same time, it's by no means the best. Throw COD4's gameplay refined, add halo's features and dash some MW2 graphics and you have Black Ops. The other nominees would have been a better choice. I vote Halo Reach; it was a much more robust game

wow.... i agree wih most of these comments.... i wouldnt mind if Battlefield won, but Black Ops? mon, i mean, its the same CoD game except they ass new maps and a barely bareable storyline, then this happens. I mean, ive playe CoD, but cmon. Reach had a much better chance, especially since they got forge 2.0, which got best innovation. plus, Bungie keeps updating and putting fan made maps online for MP. I feel cheated.

Oh Man who saw that coming! i wonder how much money they gave them to persuade and just hand them the award for best shooter. He who has the most shares in stock always remains on top! I hate big corporate businesses.
