I'm shocked. There aren't any people on here (yet) yelling how Kevin Kelley is getting paid by Microsoft or the worst reviewer in the history of reviews just because he dared to not like a PS3 game. I agree with everyone else, this style of Talkabout is by far the best, where both sides are given. I don't really care to see two people who have the same view talk about a game for 10 minutes. I bought Gran Turismo 5, and I'm looking forward to having intelligent AI, damage, etc. But the thing is, I'm not a big enough fan to be enthusiastic about toughing it out to get to that point (but I'll do it. It will just take me forever). The game is good, but it's curious to me how they could delay a game for so long, and then ship it without leaderboards. But they know that this is a game people will be playing for years, and they will be fixing things along the way with updates and it will be an amazing game.

Kevin Kelley what part of a driving simulator don't you understand?? If you want to play something like you just described then go play some burnout, leave us car lovers to our driving.

Thats why is fallout or fable you get all the level ups and weapons and armor from the start, Right Kevin. Cuz its more fun that way.

    Perfect game, perfect progression.

Does Stephen own a model T?

Seems like it with all that gear. Or he writes messages in the air.

It's a SIMULATOR! But I can see where Kelly is coming from. Still, this game has me hooked with the mechanics of operating different vehicles.. Each car and race has to be approached from a different angle if you want to finish at the top. The challenges for obtaining your license are what I enjoy the most and it's very addicting too. You could spend hours trying to perfect each run and the cool part about it is that actually improve your driving after each run. The game is top notch for racing enthusiast. It starts off slow, but once it gets going, hang on to your controller or in Stephen's case, your steering wheel! Awesome vid by the way.

Hey if u don't like great graphics, great cars, and real driving in your games, than GT5 is just not the game 4U.

I wonder if Kevin has tried to imagine if he'd like this game more if it had realistic damage right from the start.

So its your first race, you've just spent half your bankroll on your first car (probably a Civic), you jump straight into a race and head off. No training, no waiting, no load times, just straight into a race. Then about half way through the first lap he takes a header into a wall because he expected the car to turn like an arcade racer. Now the front end of his Civic is totaled, he's disqualified from the race with a "DNF", and it will cost him the REST of his bank roll to fix up the Civic or buy a new car.

    Would that be more fun?

One of the best talkabout's out. While i do agree about the music the driving is superb in it's handling.
Hope to see more Stephen "Great Genius" Johnson on talkabout.

I'm kind of in both camps. After 6 years of development, I was wanting more. I will say Stephen is spot on with the suggestion of using the wheel. I liked the game much, much more after getting the wheel.

Stephen Johnson and Adam Savage(from Mythbusters), could be twins.

It all boils down to preference. Just like in the case of Fifa versus Pro evolution

i feel like the majority of people who hate it are the ones that havent played it. ive never been one for racing sims, but i love this game. i mean people are complaining about the UI? thats pathetic! i love the jazzy music, but i do use a custom playlist from my ps3 for when im racing.

Wow G4, that was a really good video. You should do more videos with two completely different opinions on a game as it really brings out the different pros and cons. I am with Stephen on this one, I love the game. Although I agree it has crappy music and odd menus, the actual driving gameplay makes so you tense you can hear your heart beating, I have never gripped a controller so tightly in my life. However, what is up with the load time gripes? I heard it was bad at launch because of server over-load but they are not nearly as bad as Kelly makes them out to be.

Verdict is its a must buy for any male who loves driving real cars. If you think Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is the best game ever, GT5 is not for you.
