So on one hand you guys at G4 keep saying console wars and fanboyism is really dumb but on the other you contribute to the problem.

GT5 wins in graphics and it has more realistic driving and why can you rewind time in Foroza Motorsports 3 WTF.

These games are actually closely similar. The main difference in GT to Forza is the number of cars and damage.

Liked Forza 3, but I like GT5 way better, and it's not about "ooh cleaner graphics" cause to be honest
I still like to play N64 games, I'm not one for graphics as long as it's fun. To me the cars in GT5 are less "video game" like and really do handle as a real car would. In Forza3 it seemed a little like the cars were too easy to drive, and then when you expected to do something easy the game physics would throw you off. But still fun love both games but I'll have to say Forza3 9.5/10 GT5 10/10

I played Forza 3 to death, great game. Cant help but compare them, and I just really felt disappointed with GT5. Not a upgrade from Forza what so ever, more of a letdown. Say what you want about either, but for the time it took for GT5 to be released and I get stuck with a majority of PS2 rendered looking cars.......please its a joke. No flow to the game, feels pieced together, or someone got lazy. I was really excited about this game.

Both are superb games. What's the point in comparing them? If you have a Xbox - get Forza, If you have a Playstation - get Gran Turismo. It's as simple as that.

I hearing a lot of BS around here about forza III. Now i have put more than 45 hours into forza III. In those hours I've had more fun in a racing sim since NFS Porshe unleashed. I'm gonna give you some facts that you can ignore in your fanboi fervor.

We all know Forza isn't an arcade game. I don't even think there is an arcade mode. How do i know its a simulator? Simple you can bring up a hud with several tabs. The tabs have information from the g force's on your car, current traction on all 4 wheels, and a many others. The cars in forza handle as close to real cars as I've ever found.

Cars- Well there are over 400 from 50 manufacturers. Everyone with a detailed interior to allow behind the wheel camera. I don't use it often but i like the fact that the option is there. Also there is a large selection from American muscle car's to cars you can buy today at a car dealership all the way to the best cars in the world. Every one with at least a few upgrades.

Upgrades & Tuning- Speaking of upgrades there are many from cosmetic body changes to drive train switches and engine swapping. Weight reduction, tire width, size, and type aka racing, street, sport.
Suspension upgrades, aero, Alignment, springs, damping, braking, gears, and a slew of engine upgrades from a simple cpu to dual turbo chargers. Tuning is important for online play and for season play once you hit the R3 season. If you can tune your car to help your driving style you'll be even better.

I don't own a PS3 not that i dislike it. It simple cost to much, and i can't say any of the exclusives have been anything that simply make me want to go and get one. GT5 is no doubt a good game, and before i was introduced to the Forza franchise. I would have no doubt thought it was the best racing simulators out there. It clearly still is, but Forza has so many more options when it comes to what you can do to your car. However that just my opinion i just wanted to clear the air of bull as it where.

I agree with some of the other commentors, this was kind of another missed opportunity still, should have really used the same tracks for both :P Then you could directly compare pretty much everything instead of only some things.

But oh well, times are going to be pretty slow going this month, so should be plenty of chance to give a 3rd (and hopefully final) comparison video lol.

Been playing 1-3 hr's daily of GT5 since release and I have to agree with it seeming unfinished.. And that's after 6 years? Wow.

I own both of these games. I absolutely love Forza 3. And I've owned GT1-4 and FM1 & 2. Now there is no way to compare these two. Forza has so many things you can do to your cars, And they are ready to buy whenever you get the money in game. GT5 seems that they were tired of the waiting and just pushed it out the door w/o tying up the loose ends. It just seems unfinished to me. I mean as far as inside camera is not in all cars, and what you can not upgrade on most cars. I've had GT5 for about 4 days now and I have still not been able to find a truck FS in used or new dealer? I'm at level 15. FM3 had it in the dealer 1st hand. FM lets you go wild on paint and making the car yours. GT makes you pay for paint? And when you use the color you earned you lose it? I just think that the people over @ GT should buy a 360 and see what the market is looking for. FM has their problems but as far as i'm concerned Forza will continue to dominate the racing sim game. GT should have waited another 6 months to release.

I gotta agree with Snicker60515, GT5 is the way to go for a racing sim. Not saying Forza sucks but at the end of the day it's still just an arcade racer with a buttload of polish...and racing sims are my style.

Main thing I noticed was reflections. Foliage seems to be reflected in GT5 but not in Forza 3. The other main thing is given the lighting of the racetrack, the forza3 trees don't seem to cast much in the way of shadows, whereas you see plenty of this light shadow play in GT5. Other than that, can't tell much difference.

Real racers don't need driving lines. Step it up G4 :P

Both very good games. Extremely comprehensive racers made by people who love cars like I do. I would really like to see both games running Laguna Seca head to head then you've got same track and I'd also like to see the same car. These comparisons suck terribly, if you're gonna do them, do them right.
