Can't say I get the point of comparing these, they are two very different games with little in common. What's next, Kirby vs God of War?

a lot of people say GT5 is boring, it really is i remeber i was playing forza 3 and i just turned around and started to crash into other cars thats how boring some simulator games can be i prefer arcade but thats just me my dad likes simulators thats him it depends on what you like

Alright, GT5 is on a crappy track with a crappy car and NFS is on the best car and map of the game! This is NOT A FAIR comparison. Im buying GT5 because if you had it in the first person view and on a different map, GT5 woulda got alot more love.

Comparing these games is like comparing a sports game and an RPG. You need to know which type of racer you like. GT5 is for the sim fans while Hot Pursuit is for people who like arcade racers. I bought both since I like both but this really shouldn't be that tough of a decision.

i get why G4 compared these two games but sadly it wasnt meant for real gamers because we already know which game we prefer. So hows about a comparison of GT5 and Forza 3 now for all of us that care, oh and i guess NFS and what blur or split second idk

It's sad that NFS has better car damage than GT5.....

Haha, Hot Pursuit makes Gran Turismo look so boring when they're run side by side like that. The truth however is that both games are fun and provide different kinds of satisfaction.

I'm not terribly sure what the point to this is, though, it looks like a half-baked idea thrown about in the morning and quickly slapped together to get something interesting on the site in the absence of any interesting news (news cycle for gaming is always slow this time of year, obviously). I think a written piece analysing the enjoyment gained from both games and then an explanation of what the writer themselves find they prefer would have been a better idea.

Not that it matters, ultimately, merely mention a title like Gran Turismo and you're bound to have all the immature fanboys crawl out of the woodwork ready to urinate all over everything regardless of content. Oh internet.

I'm going to cancel my G4 account. I have lost all faith in you people.

I'm not going to argue about any of this stuff. If anyone would like to just mess around with Forza and Need for Speed, they ought to play Call of Duty instead because that is more fun. These Sim games are for racing fans and Car fans. If the racing is not accurate and if the cars are not true to their real counterparts, then what's the point? As a racing fan and as a Car fanatic who has owned several of the main featured cars in all of these titles, Gran Turismo is the only game that makes me feel good about having a digital version of the R8 that I had to sell to pay for school. I get so angry with Forza for screwing up every detail that I cannot stomach it. Something good has finally happened and several game critics aren't able to score golds in the license tests so they give it an average score. Boo for G4.

I love how that video shows a license run instead of an actual race. May as well show us the Level 0 Sunday cup next and compare it with the NFS car with flames shooting out the exhaust. First GT5 news in weeks and this is what we get? No news on the multiple updates. No info on tiered damage/A.I.. Nope...we get a video of the Batmobile vs. Random GT5 car.

I know it's fun to bash GT right now, but it sold me a PS3 so that's something.

Well, both games are different but both are good at the same time. It's a matter of personal preference here. I have to give the people behind these games credit for these great games.

Hey geniuses, the author clearly states that these are 2 very different racing games. They're making this comparison because both games happened to be released at around the same time, and those not into racing games may want to see a side by side comparison. Quit bitching!

the comparison isnt completely pointless. GT5 isnt for everyone, and this gives you an idea of which game you would rather play. personally i go for more realistic driving sims, so i bought GT5 and i love it. im sure NFS is fun in its own way, but i played it at PAX and oddly enough, i found THAT boring. plus ive only got enough time for one driving game at the moment. honestly i havent played any other game this week. no shooting, no rocking, just drive drive drive. NFS = for flashy, arcade style people with short attention spans. GT5 = for precision OCD drivers, and fans of top gear.

I hate to make a conclusion out of my two favourite racing games, so I'll just say this. The developers made them what they are, and it's up to the user/buyer to decide which one to spend their cash on.

Myself, I love NFS and GT, so I would buy both. But please G4, do NOT make another mistake of comparing a racing simulator with an arcade-type racer, please. It's like comparing Halo to Legend of Zelda or (as others said) Forza to Mario Kart. You just can't compare two wonderfully made games like this.

ive noticed almost every comment is complaining that g4 is comparing two different types of racing games but im pretty sure that they werent comparing them because they were similar but more along the lines that they are both major racing titles that are being released this fall you guys are making it seem like they are comparing call of duty with pokemon ive noticed that most of the people on g4 like to point out the stupidest stuff and then everyone else likes to post the same thing a million times yes we get it ones and arcade racer ones a racing sim i got it the first million times!!

Another attempt by G4 to piss off ps3 fans.

Maybe the reason G4's comparing these two game's is because GT5 and NFS Hot Pursuit came out this year and Forza 3 didn't still I agree this comparison is unfair. Also I like NFS Hot Pursuit more than GT5.
