Just shows where Sony's head is at. Kinda sad to see the Japanese markets losing out to the American newcomer. Originally a HDD drive for the N64, the playstation set out as a great machine, however the release of the PS3 was a massive mistake, with too many people and not enough product. Sad indeed, but I'm starting to really like Microsoft now anyways.
I will stick to my Forza 3 I have been waiting 5 years for this? I like actual triggers and not buttons for gas and brake. Wheel and pedal configs are not sturdy enough for my liking.
5 years in the making and the game still looks ugly
You can tell he learned how to drift from NFS. It's hopefully all their first time on those tracks! Anyway, looks like the same GT I have come to love over the year. No it's not flashy or intense like forza but it is the REAL driving simulator (sort of). STOP USING THE E BRAKE.
Just had to watch this again, and the 2nd time around.. is it possible to give DUI's for virtual driving? (watch around 3:00, rams two seperate cars for nearly 30 seconds before reacting and steering around LOL) I am most definetly not sold on this now though. Everything just appears absolutely unnatural about it, almost all the surroundings look like cardboard cutouts, handling is way too stiff, do the cars even have suspension in them? and where is this realistic damage deformation that pretty much every other racing game has had for years now? Not to mention this players little drift trip at about 4:10.. yeah that's how real life physics work. I'm actually glad they put someone behind the controller who obviously has never drove a car before, it goes to show how unrealistic it actually is, look at how much they sway left and right (which is constantly) without ever losing traction or spinning out. The only good thing to say about it is, the cars look good atleast, but they make the poor surroundings stand out even more.
Ricky Bobby would be ashamed...
Boring elevator music for menu and terrible driving is not convincing me. Get a good driver on there!
Game doesn't WOW and the driver really really sucks. They are called brakes, look into it!
I don't know if it's just this video's quality or what, the cars look alright, but quite a bit of the environments do not. If it weren't for that extra layer of gloss I would honestly think this were last-gen. Can't really judge too much from a streaming video, but it does look pretty barren and flat in most places shown, most definetly looks dated in some places (grass, trees, people in the stands, nearly all close range backgrounds). I'm really not sure what to think now, have some pretty mixed feelings about it, and can't say many of those are good either, though I must say i'm kind of relieved I didn't pre-order it last month after I went to go buy it when it was supposed to come out.
too bad i cant experience the visuals of the game on this computer...
I know it took them forever to make this game because the music is from the early 90's.
yea my friend got the 360 so he loves racing games and when i showed him this he was like omg i got to get a ps3 but idk how it compears to fordza the red line means to slow down u playing with the helper line and still can't make it lol u must not like racingthe 720 turn was not epic it was accident lol
So far it's getting favourable reviews, but at 86, on metacritic, it's no Forza (92). Recently one of the PS3 fanboys suggested I look to IGN for a "true review", of a Kinect game, so here then is a "true quote" from IGN:"Gran Turismo 5 is a 10/10 simulator wrapped up in a 5/10 game"
I would be happier if it were a more exciting 15 minutes and if the driver could drive. Also, What's with this guy and E-brakes?
i would agree with you peanut, but its the first run, its installing all the time, it seemed to be loading things alright, like courses etc, just theres over 1000 cars, guess it would be stupid to load them all at once if you might not even see some of them ever.I was 50/50 about it too, but i think the first few hours of all Gran Turismo are the challenging parts, its when you advance it gets better, just takes time... its a grind but i imagine millions of people are willing to do that, in japan alone.
I own a Lancer Evolution X and my car definitely sounds like that. Gran Turismo does a great job with the little details, too bad they take years and years to make a game.
who is playing this game, they dont no wat they doing.
Gamefly just sent this to me (now a 2-3 day wait) but i gotta say based on this 1st 15 that i am underwhelmed. But to be fair i am not a big fan of serious driving sims and would of rather gotten the new NFS...I don't think this is going to be the killer app it used to be.
Not to impressed by it. Took forever for the cars to even load so you could see what you were picking. Forza seems like the better pick.
5:30 can not get here soon enough.
