Hmmmh, all the footage I see has alot of "wobble" in the car. I mean that the car steers in segments, somehow, even "only turning left" has the car turn some to the left, then kinda straighten out then continue turning left the same amount of time it did the first time etc. Just seems weird that I can't see a car just smoothly going through the curve without the constant adjusting and side-from-side swaying. Sure, it's probably because the thumbstick has to be pressed a little at a time so it won't overturn but it looks like it's quite tricky to control the car 100% as all the videos have the same thing :/
FAIL, you still use the Driving Line. If your a newb its fine, but seriously.
I still say GT3 & GT4 on the PS2 was and still is to me, excellent. I will still stay on my 360 with Forza3, sorry...

my friend bought this game and i can honestly say i'm gald he got it before me. when i went to his house to play it with him i was expecting to be blown away. after waiting years to make a new GT and then delaying the game even more i should have been in aw of how good it looks. instead i sat there dissapointed in the looks and driving. just not as well made as it should have been. not to mention the damage that is lacking greatly.
See a pattern looming. All the Xbox / Forza fanboys have come in arms to bring all kinds of hate on GT5. PS3 / GT5 fanboys couldnt give a rats tushy. Im neither a Xbox nor PS3 Fanboy. This is just a steady observation I've made. And for some who are comparing apples to oranges. GT5/ Forza can never be compared to games like NFS and such. If you're into NFS ....then why in the blue hell are you even looking at this heavy simulation game. Both Forza and GT5 are awesome simulation racers. Just because you cant play either one of them, quit with the hating.
All I see is a bunch of Xbox fanboys talking Crap!!! get a life and stop watching the ps3 news if u dont like what u see...... i wouldnt give a red cent to M$ if my life depended on it!
I like how everyone is stating an opinion when they haven't even played it yet, i have just spent two whole days on it, and its a definite improvement over prologue and gt4. Like every GT game before it, it requires patience, brain cells, and some skill to play. (For the people who don't know what they are talking about) There is skidmarks, there is plenty of Jaguars, there is an actual smoke effect for the power sliders, and there is a shat load of cars, and there is also challenges that are "(keyword) challenging" though the Top Gear challenges are kinda lame.... Comparing Forza to GT5 is like comparing Soul Calibur to Street fighter, two different takes on the same genre, one takes more skill to play and the other substitutes skill for the ability to customize and make your girl character have bigger tigs. GT makers could be like the people who make Forza and ditch the Simulation aspect of racing and make it more arcade style so even a little kid can be beastly.
Well after all this time waiting for this game I was hoping for more. I mean just looks like any other racing game. Maybe years ago looking good was enough to get a game by but nowadays most games look good. Seems like they just didnt have anything new or fresh to add so they put in 1000 cars hoping that would somehow make an average game appear better.
I've been playing GT5 quite a bit so far, and I've been enjoying it. People should, as someone mentioned yesterday, appreciate the game for what it is and what it does. Also many people, myself included, think that GT and Forza are both great racing games that should be enjoyed but instead we have people on all these gaming sites, especially IGN, that are arguing over with one's best and using numbers from reviews to justify purchases. I'm one of those people that don't have to use numbers to justify a purchase, because numbers are just numbers. I bought Forza 3 earlier this year because I like the Forza series and I bought GT5 because I like the GT series and both are good games. To anyone who's using the GT5 8.5 vs. Forza 3 9.2 IGN arguement, just chill out and play your game of choice because I promise that life will be much, much better that way because when you actually take the time to try out the game you'll find what you like or dislike about it but at least you gave the game and the developers, who put in hard work and a lot of time and money into development, that much respect for what they did because there are a lot of things Polyphony didn't have to do but they did because they care deeply about their product and that's a true showing of integrity. I'm not saying everyone has to like GT5, people are entitled to their own opinions, I'm just stating that it would be helpful to show at least a little respect and that if you don't like it then you'll be able to play something else and enjoy what you have. Games are meant for fun, not for arguing day in and day out over.
No offense to fans of this game but they shouldn't have even bothered to make this exclusive if they're not going to use the ps3 to it's fullest, I'm sorry but after seeing other ps3 games this is just a huge disappointment. Normally I don't care about graphics but for a racing simulator they better look as real as possible

i played the second GT and the third, they both seemed to be the same game. this game doesn't look any different from what i've seen even though they've made it to GT5. been bored with GT for many years now. this 1 i wont buy.

the vehicle physics don't look realistic at all. it may be that way because this is "arcade" mode, but based on this video alone i will stick to playing forza 3. even in HD, the graphics look out dated and not detailed much outside the vehicle and track itself. to people who say the physics are generalized for all cars, because it has 1000+ cars so things like body roll and how the vehicle handles isn't "unique" from car to car- forza 3 does this just fine with 500+ cars and 1/4 less development time. it seems to me that sony could have worked harder on this title in the 5 years it had. the ps3 is oviously the more powerful machine, but these graphics don't take advantage of that like Forza 3 did a year ago on the xbox. i was excited for this game, but this video makes me think i will be let down. that won't stop me from playing it, however. i'm interested in the career modes; there might be a good game behind those lackluster graphics and generalized physics.
I don't mean to be too picky, but why not show off the ckpit views and damage modeling/new features that the developers have been bragging about. To me this just looks like GT4 with glossy paint job. Oh, and I hope you don't drive like that in real life (^^ Although I know L.A. can get pretty insane...
STOP USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE! You CAN'T brake properly using that! Jesus, even I could drive better, and I've been playing NFS for most of my gaming life - until I had a whack at Gran Turismo 4 - which is where I learned how to drive properly. I could beat all 12 of those cars using that Mitsubishi - on A-Spec mode.It also looks like the player was using the D-Pad to steer, like some completely newbie racer would, what with all the jerky, twitchy movements instead of smooth, fluid movements expected of either a PS3 controller or a wheel accessory.Okay, enough raging at the fail driver. From what I've seen in the first 15 minutes, the game is an instant improvement to its predecessor - and as Polyphony stated before its release, the damage will only be seen on purpose-built racing and high-performance vehicles - not the stock cars you will see on the streets (which, in my opinion, is a BAD idea, NFS was using damage blocks for its games ever since Most Wanted, Polyphony should follow this lead).That said, there ARE over one thousand vehicles to choose from (this is where NFS will always fail, by not giving the player enough choice when it comes to vehicles), and some are even concept or prototype makes - and even some from the pre-industrialized car market.As a last, parting note, that 720 "stunt" was nothing more than an epic fail at a "drift" turn - he just slammed into the wall and spun out, while trying to use the emergency brake as leverage to try and regain control - and failing miserably while doing so. Next time, get someone with half a brain to test drive instead of some half-drunk moron veering all over the place. LEARN TO USE THE STANDARD BRAKE FOR ONCE!
