The main guy looks like Ken Cosgrove from Mad Men.

Really interested in seeing how it plays. Great mouth animation and facial movements. Could be a unique one. The Irish captain is right out of LA Confidential. They should have gotten James Cromwell.

okay now I'm hyped

Looks pretty sweet to me. For those that don't know, they're doing something very different with the animations/facial animations, using people's actual facial expressions, or something like that, with new tech. I don't remember exactly, but I remember reading about it in an article and in GI. It means the expressions will be much more detailed and not CGI made or whatever, and seem more realistic, because it's the people's actual expressions.
Listenup: Actually, from what I remember reading a while back, it's not an open world game, not in the sense like GTA or Fallout, you can't go wherever you want when you want. At least that's what I remember reading, which disappointed me a bit, but on the flipside, makes sense, why would you need or want to explore a big city in a CSI-esque type drama setting. There's probably chunks of an area that you can go to or need to go to in order to solve a case. I'm thinking something like a CSI game but with much bigger areas to go to and you have some limited exploration you can do. Kinda like CSI meets GTA.

also, before anyone expects gta. this is not like that. you investigate crimes, interrogate suspects, interview witnesses, scan over crime scenes, etc.. the dev's have said you can do 90% of the game without ever firing a shot. or if you feel like gimping yourself and not getting as good a reward and missing some clues or something, you can shoot up everything. but it's first and foremost a story driven detective game, not a gta clone.

Thats some damn good looking animation. However I am a bit skeptical seeing as how they didnt show any gameplay footage.

Rockstar games are always good so im going to think of this as a good game

The sound and voices of the trailer sound so good if i closed my eyes and just listened to it i would of thought this was a movie trailer and not a video game

This game looks pretty spectacular. It's just sad how many people won't recognize what this game is doing differently. It's not supposed to have better visuals in terms of graphical detail, because it's an open world game, and tech just isn't there yet. It's the way they're capturing facial expressions and the actor's performances. Yes, Heavy Rain "looks better" in some ways, but when a character is supposed show emotion, or deliver a line, it's not as believable as in L.A Noire, because Quantic Dream used outdated tech for that part of the game.

Looks like fase 2 of R* comeback has started pretty quickly after the RDR DLC. The motion capture is certainly better than GTA4 but I still do not like the graphics. Polygons what? The animation is top notch though. The end of the trailer says it's all ingame footage, which isn't that surprising to me since that's just as with GTA4 back in the day. I did not buy RDR immediately after my huge dissapointment after the GTA4 DLC's, but I have faith in R* again since RDR was such a succes. Also cool they are doing the clich kind of games now; crime, cowboys, zombies, noire, cold war. Hope they'll bring back the '80s and '90s in GTA, but I don't see GTA coming before the other upcoming titles.

I think this looks great and I'm looking forward to playing it. Especially like that its supposed to be modeled after what 1940's Los Angeles really looked like.
@gimtan: that's totally Ken Cosgrove! Maybe be can get a cameo from Joan also . . .
Angelicsin87
I can see this having a good and great story like RDR and GTA4. Good luck
